Kirsten Dunst in Honor | “Melancholia” London Premiere

Kristen Dunst in Honor | 'Melancholia' London Premiere

Kirsten Dunst was in London to premiere her film “Melancholia” at The Curzon Mayfair today. Kirsten hit the carpet looking as lovely as ever in a beautiful brown silk organza cupcake dress with a paisley print. Kirsten is already two steps ahead of the game as the dress comes from the recently debuted spring 2012 ready-to-wear collection by Honor.

I love the fit, the vintage style, the femininity of it, and the sheer top showing off the bustier underneath. It’s sexy without being overtly so, plus the hugging at her waist creates a defined silhouette. The cut, color, and print compliment Kirsten’s style and makes it the perfect dress for an early fall appearance. | continue reading..

Taylor Lautner in Dolce & Gabbana | “Abduction” Paris Premiere

Taylor Lautner in Dolce & Gabbana | 'Abduction' Paris Premiere

Taylor Lautner attended the premiere of his action flick “Abduction” tonight in Paris with his-co-star Lily Collins at the Gaumont Marignan Theater. Taylor was all smiles wearing a two-button grey suit by Dolce & Gabbana. Taylor paired his suit with a violet checked shirt, a matching silk-satin tie, and leather dress shoes.

There’s nothing actually wrong with his look, I just really would like for him to take more chances fashion-wise. I thought he was on the rise recently when he went sans tie, but I should have known that his look at the London premiere would be a short lived moment. On the upside — I love the color of his tie.

Taylor still has some more international press left to do for “Abduction” (such as a premiere in Madrid!) before he begins promoting “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1″.

Kate Mara in Prada | “The Ides of March” Premiere

Kate Mara in Prada | 'The Ides of March' Premiere

Kate Mara looked lovely in an ivory crochet dress by Prada at the premiere of “The Ides of March” last night in Beverly Hills. The anything-but-simple slinky dress dazzled with bronze paillettes and embroidered detail at the hem. Her pretty gold locks played off the color of her dress and her make-up was complimentary. Kate has yet to really surprise me on the red carpet, but she’s nearly always well put together on the red carpet.

She accessorized with nude vernice platform pumps and a rust-colored lurex clutch with button detail — both by Prada.

Ryan Gosling in Gucci | 'The Ides of March' Premiere

Sigh, I love a well-dressed man.

Ryan Gosling arrived at the premiere of “The Ides of March” last night in Beverly Hills looking extra dapper in a gorgeous olive green satin finish two-button suit with front flap pockets by Gucci. There’s something about a man in suit of a non-standard black, brown, grey, or navy that really does it for me. I wish more actors would take some chances on the red carpet like Ryan — who seems to always be on point.

As if the color wasn’t enough to make the whole look worth it, the two shades darker silk tie featuring diagonal stripes in shades of green was like the cream-cheese frosting on a red velvet cake. Simply yummy.

I don’t understand why Ryan walked with his hands in his pockets as it caused his pants to bunch and wrinkle. I guess he was just totally at ease since he looked good and he knew it. Ryan posed on the carpet with his co-star George Clooney who looked dashing in a double-button dark suit with an open collar black shirt.

Evan Rachel Wood in Yves Saint Laurent | “The Ides of March” Premiere

Evan Rachel Wood in Yves Saint Laurent | 'The Ides of March' Premiere

Evan Rachel Wood is continuing on with her monochrome obsession, and I love it more now than I already did. The 24-year-old actress wore a silk off-white tuxedo from Yves Saint Laurent‘s fall/winter ready-to-wear collection last night at the premiere of “The Ides of March” held in Beverly Hills. As if it didn’t look amazing enough on her, she left the jacket open to show off a black bustier.

Evan is a prime example of ‘wearing fashion’, not ‘fashion wearing you’. She always looks so confident and comfortable that even if the outfit isn’t her best look, she makes it her best. She’ll sway your opinion because she’ll wear the heck out of it, and that’s how I feel about this on her. I’ve never been one for white tuxedos, but things change. What I really love about this particular piece are the silk-satin strips down the trouser legs with the button tabs a few inches from the leg opening. It’s all in the detail.

The black bustier breaking up the look was complimented by gorgeous strands of layered on silver necklaces containing pearls and black and white diamonds by Neil Lane. She also wore matching black diamond earrings.

When I first saw photos emerge, they were only from the waist up and I already liked the look at that point. Throw in a full length showing off her black Giuseppe Zanotti pumps with ivory cap-toe detail…I’m sold. | continue reading..

Marisa Tomei in Marios Schwab | “The Ides of March” Premiere

Marisa Tomei in Marios Schwab | 'The Ides of March' Premiere

Finally, Marisa Tomei wore a cocktail dress that worked for her! Marisa arrived at the Beverly Hills premiere of “The Ides of March” held at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ Samuel Goldwyn Theatre wearing a Marios Schwab deep red dress from his fall collection.

The silk gathered halter dress hit Marisa just below the knees and opened just enough at the neckline to add some drama without being overtly sexy. The leather belt features two side panel overlays at her hips. I’m a firm believer in the motto that ‘a little leather never hurt anyone’, so obviously I take that personally and run with it – a lot. Marisa went for it tonight and the dress looked great on her! | continue reading..

Lily Collins in Chanel Couture | “Abduction” Paris Premiere

Lily Collins in Chanel Couture | "Abduction" Paris Premiere

Two premieres, two very different dresses, one designer.

Lily Collins continued on with the promotion trail for her movie “Abduction” with co-star Taylor Lautner when they premiered the film in Paris (it’s called “Secret Identity” there!). Taylor and Lily went back to their fashion comfort-zone for this appearance, he brought back the salesman tie and she went for vintage housewife cocktail chic.

Lily wore a 1950′s inspired navy blue organza cocktail dress — from the Fall 2007 haute couture collection by Chanel, with a split peplum waist and tuxedo style bodice and point lapel halter neck. Black sequin embellishments are embroidered from the bodice to the lower back of the dress as well as on the trim of the dress. A sequined bow sits at the center of the bodice with two others on each side of the peplum waist.

While the dress itself is an interesting choice, I felt like it was “too old” for Lily and she appeared as if she were wearing a costume. Was it raining in Paris or was she going for a ‘wet look’ up-’do? | continue reading..

Anna Faris in Moschino | “What’s Your Number?” NY Screening

Anna Faris in Moschino | 'What's Your Number?' NY Screening

As previously worn by Lady Gaga, Moschino can add another fan to the list of this dress from their fall 2011 collection — Anna Faris!

Anna attended the Marie Claire hosted screening of her movie “What’s Your Number” last night in New York City wearing the LBD. I love it when what starts out to be a simple sheath dress, turns out to be anything but. Peplums are huge this year, but I’m in awe of how this partiulcar one is balanced so well with the slight boatcut neckline and blunt sleeveless style. The delicate bow at the waist adds the extra pop of femininity.

Anna didn’t go overboard at all with the accessories when she could have added a couple of bangles. The dress and shoes were the complete focal point, and my, oh my — those shoes! A pair of the the most fierce black ankle strap pumps by Christian Louboutin were the perfect match. | continue reading..

Anna Kendrick in ASOS | “FOX & Friends” Interview

Anna Kendrick in ASOS | 'FOX & Friends' Interview

Anna Kendrick is the cutest thing! The “50/50″ actress looked bright and cheery in this ASOS Petite pique ‘Chelsea’ scalloped shift dress (also available in regular sizes) when she made a morning appearance on “Fox & Friends” today in New York.

I adore the scalloped edging and the illusion of a cropped top over a high waisted skirt. The back of the top is split with the open edges also scalloped. The dress is available in petite and regular sizes and also comes in cream, orange, lime, and navy. Anna really could have gotten away with any of the colors apart of the cream, but I love that she selected yellow as I think it suits her. Yellow is such a happy color — in fact it’s one of my favorite colors.

Her shoe choice of the “Chiara” black leather pumps by Christian Louboutin was okay, although I think it would have been cute to wear them in another bright color. Maybe the “Pigalle” in a hot pink or coral? | continue reading..

Gemma Arterton in Gucci | Gucci Museum Opening

In town for Milan Fashion Week, Gemma Arterton was among the star-studded attendees at the opening of  “Gucci Museo”, the Gucci Museum in Italy last night.

Gemma wore a full look from the Gucci resort 2012 collection which included a caramel blush leather cropped jacket with a white blouse, black pencil skirt, chain-lock necklace, black leather pumps and a pony hair clutch in a fierce zebra print.

In my book Gemma was hitting all the right doubts, but hit a road-block when she decided to leave her hair up. She had already copied the look from head to toe, but I don’t think she should’ve went as far as imitating the make-up and hairstyle. The ensemble is more of a day look, so I would’ve suggested she make it “cocktail ready” with a dramatic smokey eye and some long tumbling waves.
