Leighton Meester in Alexander McQueen | 2011 TIFF Premiere – “The Oranges”

It’s after Labor Day, but Leighton Meester was in Canada for the premiere of “The Oranges” at the Toronto International Film Festival — does the ban on white still apply to skirts?

Leighton wore neck-to-toe Alexander McQueen resort 2012 which included a broderie anglaise military styled asymmetric top layered over a flounce skirt. I loved all of the details on this look, from the buttons down the front of the top to the high-low hem of the skirt.

I found the outfit suitable for Leighton and her personality, but her body looked overwhelmed by it in the few photos I saw of her. The skirt could have benefited from some tailoring.

Leighton accessorized with a McQueen buckled clutch and animal print pumps from the collection. I can’t help but wonder if the outfit would have improved if had she worn the triple buckle belt. Nevertheless, snaps all around for the animal print pumps.
