Last month Kristen Stewart surprised London Fashion Week attendees when she arrived for the Mulberry spring/summer 2012 runway show and took a front-row seat next to supermodel Kate Moss. I think the real shocker wasn’t the fact that she was there, but that she looked so different from how we’re use to seeing her.
Not only was the 21-year-old actress, known for her role as Bella Swan in the “Twilight” franchise, wearing a girly bohemian-esque blue dress — she was also sporting a long, straight, and full head of black hair! Kristen recently changed the color and was given the extension treatment for her role as Snow White in “Snow White and the Huntsman” which is currently shooting in London.
Long days of rehearsal and shooting can take a lot out of an actor, but make-up artist Emma Kotch helped Kristen get a bright eyed, fresh-faced look for the morning fashion show. I can’t tell you how you can get Kristen’s darn-near flawless skin, but if you’re interested in getting some of her Fashion Week beauty tips – look no further!
For a base Kotch covered any dark circles or imperfections with Laura Mercier‘s ‘Secret Camouflage’ concealer in “SC-2” ($28) before blending in Armani‘s ‘Luminous Silk’ foundation in #4 and #6 ($59). She then set the make-up with Dior‘s ‘Capture Totale’ loose powder. For Kristen’s cheeks, Kotch used the ‘Luminous Cheek Colour’ blush by Dolce & Gabbana in “Nude” ($44).
You can achieve Kristen’s glittery light smokey eyes by applying Dior‘s ‘5-Colour Designer All-In-One Artistry Palette’ in “Smoky Design” ($59) and Chanel‘s shimmering ‘Ombre Contraste Duo’ shadow in “Bleu/Tendre” ($42). Kotch used Prescriptives eye pencil in “Jet” (note: now discontinued!) to lightly line Kristen’s top and bottom lids before sweeping her lashes with Lancôme‘s ‘Hypnose’ mascara in “Black” ($25). Kristen’s brows were perfected with Tom Ford‘s ‘Brow Sculptor’ in “Taupe” (£32) from his beauty line.
For Kristen’s lips, Kotch enhanced her natural color by first lining and lightly filling in her lips with Dolce & Gabbana‘s ‘Precision’ lipliner in “No. 1 Nude” ($30). Kotch finished off her pretty pout with TheBalm‘s ‘Plump Your Pucker’ tinted gloss in “Cocoa My Coconut” ($15).
After checking out the morning presentation, Kristen Stewart did a quick wardrobe change and headed for the after party. This look was more Kristen’s style as it included a white tee, skinny jeans, ankle boots, and SS12 jacket from Mulberry. After braiding up her newly-acquired super long locks, Kristen enhanced her make-up before celebrating the collection with designer Emma Hill at the fête.
Kotch left the foundation base of Kristen’s make-up as it was from earlier in the day, but added some drama by sculpting her cheeks with more gorgeous treats from Tom Ford Beauty, including the ‘Cheek Colour’ powder blush in “Love Lust” (£45). The rich color increased the definition in her cheekbones for added impact.
For her eyes, Kotch went for a much more intense flawless smokey eye. She used the Tom Ford ‘Eye Colour Quad‘ in “Silvered Topaz” (£62) and once again lightly lined Kristen’s eyes with the Prescriptives eye pencil. For extra depth, Kotch additionally used a liquid eyeliner by Dior in black ($33). Two swipes of the ‘Hypnose’ black mascara by Lancôme and Kristen’s eyes were fabulous.
Kristen’s lips were once again lined and filled her lips with Dolce & Gabbana‘s ‘Precision’ lip liner, but this time Kotch used ‘Private Blend’ lip color from Tom Ford‘s beauty collection in the shades “Blush” and “Mood” ($45). To get a little shine, feel free to once again use The Balm‘s ‘Plump Your Pucker’ tinted gloss..
NOTE: When creating a smokey eye, remember to prime your entire eyelid with the lightest color in your shadow palette. If you have a shadow base, use it. This will keep the color from melting as the way wears on.
The shade darker should be applied from your lash line to the center crease of your eye and blend, blend, blend! The darkest shade should be applied to the crease of your eye, with your eyeshadow brush, and swept outward. As always, a flawless blend is important.
Of course, make sure both eyes match. If there are any imperfections, don’t be afraid to use that Q-tip if need be.
Now that you know what Kristen used, are you ready to try it at home? Which was your favorite look?
