Carrie Underwood arrived at the 45th Annual CMA Awards on Wednesday night in Nashville, Tennessee looking gorgeous in a Reem Acra gold gown. It was stunning and it fit her fabulously…but she didn’t have it on long.

The minute she stepped off the red carpet and entered the Bridgestone Arena to prepare for her hosting duties, Carrie was already stepping into a whole other look. It was the first of ten that she would wear for the duration of the show.

For one of her first looks, Carrie wore a Georges Chakra asymmetric metallic embellished coral dress featuring a dragging chiffon train on the side. This was an interesting piece on the model featured during the Spring/Summer 2011 Haute Couture presentations, but it looked way too big on Carrie. The whole design of the dress was kind of lost on her, it appeared to be two sizes bigger than what she should be wearing.

During a segment involving…dolls, Carrie wore a layered asymmetric white embellished cocktail dress from the Fall/Winter 2009 Haute Couture collection by Cengiz Abazoğlu. It sort of looked like she was wrapped in a very expensive napkin. Oddly, I like it. On her feet were a ridiculously cool pair of white, black, and silver “Glamourous” sandals by Ryan Haber.

Carrie accessorized with 18kt yellow gold Affinity Link Earrings with cut Diamonds and micro pave by Royal Asscher and white satin cuff with black ribbon by Cuffs Couture.

For her powerhouse performance with Brad Paisley, Carrie wore a black and white organza gown banded at the waist by a satin belt from the Fall/Winter 2011 collection by Tony Ward Couture. The super high slit made it a little bit easier for her to move around and not get caught on her black Stuart Weitzman sandals.

On her ears were a pair of black onyx and diamond drop earrings from Sutra.

During the show Carrie sported a mega up-do’ that she paired with an equally extravagant dress. She wore a black and dark bronze sequined cocktail dress from the Fall/Winter 2011 Haute Couture collection by Georges Chakra that featured an open neck lined with dark brown pleated satin.

On her feet were black platform slingback sandals by Stuart Weitzman.

One of my favorite looks of the night was her Zuhair Murad strapless silk dress covered in a beautiful assortment of floral prints. The gown had a pulled front to show off her hot pink Christian Louboutin sandals. I loved the little pink piece in her hair, she also accessorized with jewelry from M.C.L by Matthew Campbell Laurenza.

My favorite moment of the night was definitely when Carrie wore this blushing pink asymmetric mini dress with metallic detail by Cengiz Abazoğlu. Not only was this one of the best dresses she wore all night, she wore it for a skit with the most glamorous pigs in Hollywood — Miss Piggy!

Obviously Miss Piggy totally up-staged Carrie (she can’t really help it that she’s so fabulous), but I still think this was a cute look for Carrie. I loved the crystal embellished Sergio Rossi satin “Cachet” pumps she wore, although I know for a fact this shoe is available in a more complimentary color for that dress.

The first few looks were only some of the wardrobe changes Carrie endured for the ceremony. Among the many was a glitzy shorts tuxedo by Nikki Rich that she once again slipped on the “Glamourous” sandals by Ryan Haber for. On her neck was a really cool limited edition “Pampilles” silver mordore crystal necklace by Baccarat.

Carrie wore a Roberto de Villacis dress to the BMI Country Awards the night before, but selected one of his designs again for the CMA ceremony. She was donned in a bronze sequined cocktail dress at one point during the show, and kept the glittery moment going with a pair of gold sparkling “Private” sandals by Jimmy Choo.

Wardrobe changes have to be quick at an award show, I wonder how easy it was to slip on this one-of-a-kind Jean Fares Couture gown as it featured many cutouts. Carrie wore a green print satin silk full length gown with embellished belt and cuff detail, a plunging neckline and open cut-out sleeves.

Even with all that detail, she still found space to accessorize a little bit. Carrie wore a yellow gold 18kt ‘Stars of Africa’ full sapphire globe with floating diamonds necklace by Royal Asscher which filled some space in that plunging neckline.

Her Victor Velyan earrings featured chrome diopside, diamonds, emeralds, and pink and yellow sapphires. Whoa.

When Carrie hit the stage in this insane chain-embellished “Rock ‘n Roll” dress by Mandalay, I couldn’t help thinking I had seen Britney Spears in something similar. While I love her Jimmy Choo “Kyrle” ankle boots, I don’t think they really looked right with the dress.

Carrie matched the chain details of her dress with sapphire, blackened gold, onyx and diamond tassel earrings by Sutra.

Which was your favorite look?
