It’s a CHANEL Affair at the MOMA 4th Annual Film Benefit: “A Tribute To Pedro Almodovar”

It was star-studded night on Tuesday at the Museum of Modern Art’s 4th Annual Film Benefit honoring Spanish film director, Pedro Almodovar held at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.

Sarah Jessica Parker, Emma Stone, and Drew Barrymore were among the lovely ladies decked out in CHANEL as they arrived and were photographed against a striking “American Beauty”-reminiscent rose cluster backdrop.

I’m not sure which was more eye-catching — the dresses or the roses!

Sarah Jessica Parker wore a grey chiffon embroidered gown and long navy sleeveless jacket from the Resort 2012 collection. I like both pieces, but not together. I’m really not sure what made SJP cover up the lovely dress with this heavy vest. It not only drew attention to the imperfections of the waistline of the dress, but I don’t see the purpose. It’s not like it was so chilly outside therefore she needed a jacket. It doesn’t have sleeves!

I was happy to see that her hair was a lot less…voluminous. It no longer looks as if her hair is overwhelming her as it did on her recent international press tour for “I Don’t Know How She Does It”. Her make-up was less than favorable because her eyes looked closed in many pictures due to the heavy liner and shadow. She accessorized with black pumps.

I see Blake Lively was back to making short Chanel dresses even shorter. While I’m not the biggest fan of the Blake/Chanel pairing, I will say this is more appealing look for her than in the past. Blake selected a blue sequin embroidered vest and feather strapless dress from the Fall 2011 Haute Couture collection. She paired the dress with sheer black tights and leather “Robot” ankle boots from Christian Louboutin. I’m happy to see that she wore her hair up — in a pretty up ‘do with lots of height.

Did Chloe Moretz graduate early or something? I feel like this girl is always out past her bedtime. The 14-year-old actress arrived to the MoMA event wearing an embellished pale pink and black jumpsuit from the Spring 2011 Haute Couture collection. I really loved this on the catwalk, and I probably would have pulled this as an option for Chloe myself if I were dressing her for this event — although she doesn’t have a stylist. Unfortunately, it just ending up looking like really beautiful pajamas on her. Chloe wore her hair up with a stray fame framing lock, and accessorized with black pumps, CHANEL Fine Jewelry ‘Camelia Brode’ stud earrings and a ‘Camelia Ruban’ ring.

Emma Stone was one of my favorites of the night. Like Blake, Emma also wore her hair in a beehive-style which I thought looked amazing with the rest of her look. Emma went a bit into the archives for a black and white gown from the Spring 2009 Haute Couture collection. She kept jewelry minimal with a CHANEL Fine Jewelry ‘Camelia’ diamond ring and matching ‘Camelia’ diamond stud earrings. Her classic shoes of choice were also really perfect for the rest of her ensemble — patent black pumps by Christian Louboutin.

Elizabeth Olsen, one of my favorite red carpet ladies lately, arrived at the MoMA event wearing a black gown with a red satin belt and a diamond appliqué from the Fall 2009 Haute Couture collection. I love the dress, especially the asymmetric hem showing off the red lining to match her belt. What I don’t like is how high the belt sits on her way. It makes her middle look really boxy with the way it cuts directly under her chest. I also wish she had wore different shoes.

Elizabeth wore her hair beautifully waved, but the style actually aged her a bit. She is also wearing a CHANEL Fine Jewelry ‘Camelia’ ring and a “J12” black watch.

It was so nice to see Drew Barrymore out and about and looking much better than the last time I saw her. For the evening, Drew selected to wear a black dress with beautiful navy, grey, and hot pink feather embroidery from the Fall 2011 Haute Couture collection — but partially covered with a black jacket. I really love the embroidery, but I can’t really appreciate this look because I can’t get past how much powder is on her face! I hope it’s the lighting because her face isn’t matching the rest of her skin. It’s so distracting. Drew accessorized with CHANEL Fine jewelry, which included – ‘Camelia Nervure’ earrings and a matching ring. She’s also wearing a ‘Persane’ diamond ring, an ‘Eventail’ ring, and a ‘Fil de Diamant’ watch.

Astrid Berges-Frisbey was one of the few not wearing black that night. The Spanish actress wore a beautiful white dress from the recently debuted Spring/Summer 2012 collection. I’m loving this look from head-to-toe! Not only does the dress look great on her — I love her make-up, slicked back hair, and the way her black delicate sandals pick up the color from the center detailing of the dress. Astrid accessorized with a ‘Premiere Perles’ watch.

The stunning Felicity Jones was one of the last ladies I saw at film benefit, but I thankfully didn’t miss her altogether. Felicity wore a black embroidered cap-sleeve and wide neck dress by Carolina Herrera with a folded organza knee-length skirt. I’m not crazy about the dress on her, but I was happy to see that her make-up and hair was looking just as fab as always. She kept up with her all-black look with bow back satin pumps by Lanvin.

Moretz is home-schooled. Don’t think she needs to be in bed by 9 to get up for school.
