Last night at the black carpet was crawling with vampires and wolves at the Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE in Los Angeles! Not literally, of course — it was just the cast of the mega vamp franchise celebrating the premiere of “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1″. The “Twilight” saga started off with a large cast, and it’s only gotten bigger as the movies have continued. I’d probably be here until the weekend if I tried to tackle every co-star that walked the carpet, but I couldn’t ignore some of the major players in the Cullen coven and wolf pack.
Despite the fact that she was attending the premiere for a vampire movie, Tinsel Korey selected a very girly bubblegum pink satin gown. The color of this Dolce & Gabbana gathered dress looks beautiful against her skin, although it was a bit too ‘bridesmaid’. We know there’s a wedding in the film, but let’s not go crazy. The color was one thing, and the bow planted at the waist just solidified it. I would have preferred she wore this gown in a rich red, eggplant, or even black.
Elizabeth Reaser who plays vampire Esme (aka Mama Cullen) tapped into the history of her character and went vintage. Liz didn’t know the original designer of this wide v-neck sequined long-sleeve gown, but she fell in love with it and wanted to wear it for the premiere. I love the color, and that’s mostly it. If the skirt was a bit more tapered (or just hacked off all together) I may have liked it more. I was, however, a huge fan of her beautiful slightly waved long dark hair.
Julia Jones looked like she was getting ready for bed, not the premiere of a movie where she plays the only female member of a wolf pack. Is it just me… or does her white Christian Dior dress look like a pajama slip with a sheer robe over it? Was she trying to get into the spirit of the long-awaited “Breaking Dawn” honeymoon scene? A different hairstyle and shoes wouldn’t have saved this look, but the boring silver sandals and center parted hair she wore certainly didn’t help.
While Kellan had the wise decision to play it safe, his co-star Jackson Rathbone did not.
Jackson added a little color to the dark carpet in the form of a red crushed velvet suit by Dolce & Gabbana. I applaud the choice of color, and the fact that he took on one of my favorite fall fabrics. Unfortunately, he had to go and kill it with those alligator cowboy boots! If the suit was tailored for him a bit tighter, and he left the jacket buttoned, I would have liked this a whole lot more. His Nicolina Royale black rose brooch was very cool.
We already saw Mama Cullen’s dress, time to dissect Papa’s suit.
Peter Facinelli was one of my favorites last night! The 37-year-old actor, who plays Dr. Carlisle Cullen – the “dad” of the coven, looked great in a navy blue suit with a satin lapel and satin trimmed patch pockets. As if I didn’t love the suit enough, he paired it with a white button-front shirt that was framed by a striking printed light blue satin scarf. I love how it was tucked into the opening of the jacket.
That’s all folks! We won’t be seeing this crew together on the carpet for another year. The fifth and final installment in the saga will hit theaters next November. In the meantime, go see “Breaking Dawn – Part 1″ this Friday in theaters across America!
