This Carolina Herrera brushstroke design was originally seen as a gown for the Spring/Summer 2012 collection, but Elizabeth donned a slinky low v-neck cocktail version with gathered fabric at the center of the skirt. To me, the look is a bit off-balanced and I think it has to do more with the amount of volume in her dark brown hair. Her hair looked great, but overwhelming and definitely taking center stage over everything else. If she had left it as it was but pulled it into a high ponytail, I think it would have evened the look out.
With a lack jewels, a super sexy strappy sandal was needed — maybe even a pair with a multi-ankle wrap. Elizabeth opted for a pair of dark lace up leather perforated peep toe ankle boots by Azzedine Alaïa that I don’t think went with the dress at all.
Though this look is borderline confusing, I really do love that shade of green.
