Jessica Chastain was back on the red carpet on Tuesday night during the Marrakech International Film Festival in Marrakech, Morocco. She started off on a rocky note with me when she donned that Christian Dior dress last week, but I think she improved when she arrived on the red carpet in a brilliant green short-sleeve lurex knit dress by Issa.

Not only did it look comfortable and suit her figure, it didn’t wash her out as the Dior did. Jessica has very fair skin, but the green complimented it as well as her strawberry red hair. Speaking of her hair — it was down in glorious pin-curls; a look she would have benefited from on Friday night.

Thankfully she stayed away from the red lipstick, but I can’t say I’m thrilled with her shoe choice. She was doing so well, and when I first saw photos from the waist up, I had hoped she’d worn an embellished sandal — or even a dark green strappy leather sandal. Hey, I would have even been happy with the “Maniac” pumps in hunter green, despite how often that shoe is worn! Jessica wore a pair of metallic taupe Jimmy Choo platform “Cosmic” pumps which, to me, are more of a casual shoe than anything.

I’d rock these with a pair of skinny jeans and a pretty blouse, not on the red carpet — unless under a gown.

Green is a lovely color for her very peaked complexion. Very unfortunate she didn’t opt for a Elie Saab S’12 confection!

I would love to see her in a green creation from the Saab S’12 collection. She’d stun..especially if accessorized well.
