Last night Meryl Streep stepped out on the red carpet at the Ziegfeld Theatre for the New York City premiere of “The Iron Lady”, a thrilling film in which she stars as Margaret Thatcher — former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.

Meryl kept warm in a deep blue silk pleated plissé blouse from the Fall/Winter 2011 collection by Stella McCartney that she paired with a calf-length black skirt. I’m so happy that she defined her silhouette by cinching her waist with a belt rather than tucking the blouse in, although it’s not-so-great that you see totally see her bra through the semi-sheer top. A camisole was definitely needed.

She kept up her dark toned theme with black stockings that were sheer enough to showcase her Salvatore Ferragamo open-toe sandals with a thin ankle strap.

Win half-pinned back hair, you were able to get a great view of Meryl’s Asprey sapphire and diamond drop earrings that matched her delicate necklace. Meryl finished off her look with a velvet and silk black fringed wrap and a Ferragamo black clutch with a thin silver chain strap.
