The star of the film, Rooney Mara, graced the red carpet with her co-star Daniel Craig at the Odeon Leicester Square in a winter-white long-sleeve cutout tulle gown from the Fall/Winter 2011 haute couture collection by Givenchy.
While you can clearly see the embroidery on the cutout-shoulder long-sleeves of the design, it’s obvious that the dress was made a little bit more modest for Rooney by adding some underlining to the sheer portion at the bodice and skirt.
I haven’t been the biggest fan of the way this collection translates on the red carpet, but I actually think Rooney looked really nice tonight. The white reflected off of her fair complexion, but didn’t wash her out. Rooney’s hair wasn’t even that bad, but it also doesn’t seem to be growing out much since she cut it for the role in the movie. I wonder if she’s trying to maintain it a bit — at least the bangs.
Her short sleek coif was gathered into a small ponytail that didn’t distract at all from the gorgeous cutout back of the gown.
Foregoing any accessories (other than a small pinky ring) — Rooney’s make-up consisted of rosy tinged cheeks, soft smokey eyes, and a pale pink glossy lip. Rooney wore ivory “Melly” sandals by Brian Atwood!
