Feeling a bit of a romantic 1940’s retro vibe, Scarlett wore a textured black two piece look from the Spring/Summer 2012 collection by Dolce&Gabbana. As the face of of the brand, her straight-from-the-runway ensemble consisted of a crop bustier top with asymmetric thick straps and a belted calf-length a-line skirt.
I didn’t think this design would translate to the red carpet at all, so I set myself up to only see it in editorial. Boy, was I wrong! I loved this on Scarlett! It was chic, modern, and really unexpected — and I’m really glad she opted for a slimming thinner belt.
She finished off the look with diamond stud earrings, a gold bangle, and black “Greta” sandals by Jimmy Choo. Thank goodness she didn’t ruin the look with the wrong shoes!
I would have preferred something a little less Brandon Walsh with her hair — but you win some, you lose some. The make-up was also a bit lost on me; ScarJo wore frosted pink lipstick with thickly lined glittery grey eye shadow. Hmm.
It wasn’t until I saw high quality images that I became aware of my biggest pet peeve with her look. I would really like to know why she did not whiten her teeth!? I can overlook a lot of things, but not harshly yellow teeth.
