Rooney Mara in Lanvin | 12th Annual AFI Awards

Even though she had a minor set back at the National Board of Review Awards this month, I think Rooney Mara might be on the right track for awards season.

“The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” actress embraced an edgy-feminine look when she attended the 12th Annual AFI Awards yesterday in Beverly Hills wearing a bi-color beige and black sleeveless top in satin duchesse paired with a black neoprene skirt from the Pre-Fall 2012 collection by Lanvin.

I’m going to say right away that I wish the black matte waxed leather belt had been a bit higher because I think the blouse it pulled a bit too much, but other than that – I like this on her.

She was still on a dark color kick, but the metallic beige added some brightness. I love the ruffles on the bodice, but I’m obsessed with the skirt.

I also wish she had done the sleek side-parted hairstyle for this — I can’t get into the DJ Conner bangs, remember “Roseanne”?, but I adore her vibrant eyes due to light grey smokey shadow.

Rooney finished off her look with black “Debra Due” slingback open toe pumps by Brian Atwood.
