Sarah Jessica Parker in Tory Burch | NBC’s “Smash” NYC Premiere

Sarah Jessica Parker and her husband Matthew Broderick arrived on the red carpet tonight at the Metropolitan Museum of Art for the New York premiere of the new NBC television series “Smash” — which was hosted by NBC Entertainment & The Cinema Society with Volvo.

Adding a little glitz to the evening, SJP wore a navy blue, silver, gold and white wavy striped calf-length sequined dress from the Spring/Summer 2012 collection by Tory Burch. Due to the chilly January weather she layered on a beautiful navy blue velvet Yves Saint Laurent blazer and defined her waist with a studded brown belt. I’m not sure I love this particular belt, but she did need one.

Not one to leave any outfit drab, SJP accessorized with bold Fred Leighton earrings and a glorious statement necklace by House of Lavande . I was glad to see that her hair didn’t consume the look by being too maximized and while I had hoped for a cool matching navy shoe — or even a sky-high metallic gold sandal — she wore dark taupe suede Manolo Blahnik pumps.

That was sort of a let down.

This ensemble was completed with a clutched-in-hand gold cross body bag by VBH.
