Wearing the boldest color on the red carpet at the 64th Annual Directors Guild Of America Awards cocktail reception last night was 20-year-old Shailene Woodley from “The Descendants”.

Shailene joined her co-stars George Clooney and Nick Krause at the Grand Ballroom at Hollywood & Highland wearing a lacy ruffled cap-sleeve gown from the Spring/Summer 2012 collection by Valentino.  Due to the sheerness of the dress she had to wear a slip underneath; I really wish she had opted for a nude fabric to keep the essence of the look on the catwalk, but she wore a black strapless bustier Hervé Legér design. Bummer.

In an effort to stay comfortable, she nixed heels in favor of flats by Jimmy Choo and finished off her look with a great unkempt side braid.
