Christina Ricci in Givenchy | 2012 BAFTA Awards

Christina Ricci obviously wanted to make an impression and stand out on the red carpet tonight for the 2012 Orange British Academy Film Awards — and stand out she did.

The “Bel Ami” actress arrived at the Royal Opera House wearing a super shiny gold lamé capsleeve gown with a cascading ruffle neckline and front high split by Givenchy.

I like the color and I like the cut — but I’m not a fan of the two together. More than that, I think it overpowers Christina’s petite frame. As a short girl myself, I find it best to stay away from these styles.

Maybe it wouldn’t look so big on her if it was a dark gown that was non-metallic.

Christina was giving me Rooney Mara vibes with her blunt bangs! The rest of her hair was twisted up in a bun.

She finished off her look with a deep red pout, a strappy pair of sandals and dazzling diamond earrings with a matching bracelet by Bulgari.
