Gwen Stefani attended the Elton John AIDS Foundation Oscar Viewing party on Sunday night where she donned a couture cocktail dress by Zuhair Murad.

The 42-year-old singer wore a black bustier dress with a red floral embroidered webbed black long-sleeve overlay from the Fall/Winter 2011 haute couture collection.

I was really bummed over the lack of strappy sandals with this look; but I’m assuming Gwen wore closed toe YSL pumps because she seems to be in sheer tights. A Christian Louboutin “Pigalle” pump would have been a better shoe for her as she would have gotten an elongated leg and the red soles would have matched the detail in her dress.

With her signature red pout, Gwen finished off her look with a brushed back voluminous mane. I really wish she had worn her hair up, and I wonder why she didn’t wear the cool origami belt with the look.

The waist seemed so lost without it.
