Jessica Chastain in Vivienne Westwood | The Hollywood Reporter’s “Nominees’ Night 2012″

After such a glamorous red carpet appearance on Wednesday, I almost find myself scratching my head as to what happened with Jessica Chastain the next night.

The red-headed star of “The Help” was honored during a special celebration, for the nominated stars of the 2012 Oscars, at The Hollywood Reporter’s “Nominees’ Night 2012″, held in Los Angeles.

Jessica arrived on the blue carpet wearing a draping corset cocktail dress designed by Vivienne Westwood.

I love the sky blue and silver ombré effect with this — I also love the color on Jessica. But, what I’m not into, is the way it hangs on her. I know Vivienne is known for her cool asymmetric designs, but with this particular dress — the strap falling off just comes across as an accident.

I’d like it whether both straps were up — or down — but, not both ways.

Jessica wore amazing metallic strappy sandals with a blade heel by Casadei. She styled her hair up in ponytail with beautiful cascading curls as stray pieces framed her face. I love this style on her!
