Katy Perry in Alexis Mabille Couture | 2012 MusiCares Person of the Year Tribute to Paul McCartney

Katy Perry kicked off her Grammy weekend by performing at the 2012 MusiCares Person of the Year Tribute to Paul McCartney last night in Los Angeles.

The 27-year-old arrived on the red carpet at the Los Angeles Convention Center in a lace detailed wide-neck pale pink gown by Alexis Mabille with a satin large bow at the waist complete with crystal appliqués.

This entire Spring/Summer 2012 haute couture collection was presented with very large blooming flower hats that matched the color of each dress; Katy opted to go the whole way and wear the hat that went with her dress.

I’m not really into how this translated on the red carpet; Katy lacked the height that this gown needed. Her skirt is kind of dragging, not grazing the carpet as she moves, so it looked like it was weighing her down.

I would have preferred a different dress from this collection on her. In fact — some of the other brighter designs would have complimented her bright blue hair much more and showed off her fabulous figure.
