“Castle” star Stana Katic made her way down the purple carpet today for the 2012 Film Independent Spirit Awards in a short metallic brocade dress by Lela Rose with three quarter length sleeve and an open back.

The dress was cute, and while it was on the super-short side, at least she has a great set of legs to show off.

Stana accessorized the look with metallic platform sandals by Stuart Weitzman with an open toe and crisscross straps.

I’m going to assume that Stana wore her hair up to show off her beautiful Swarovski crystals “Esme” earrings by Dannijo, but while they are a great pair to gaze at — I wish she hadn’t done that. With the right hair-styling, she could have left her tresses out and still made sure her earrings got some spotlight.

With that said, had she not worn the earrings, I would have liked the hair. It was a cool double ponytail!

Stana completed her look with an Edie Parker “Lara” clutch.
