Claire Danes in Vivienne Westwood | 2012 White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner

Claire Danes was among the attendees from the Hollywood guest list for the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner this past weekend.

The “Homeland” actress selected a white satin gown by Vivienne Westwood that featured an asymmetric draped halter-neckline. Typically we see variations of the same dress when the celebs turn to Westwood for their red carpet attire, so I give pointers to Claire for trying something new.

Unfortunately, I wasn’t a fan of the direction she went. The strap around her neck didn’t translate well through pictures and I can’t imagine how much better it would have been in person.

With that said — I liked her hair, matte red pout and gold trimmed dark grey minaudière. Claire also wore a sexy pair of taupe and peach “Sinful” pumps by Brian Atwood.

Claire is also wearing 18k gold and white topaz drop earrings by Joan Hornig.
