Eva Longoria in Marchesa | 2012 White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner

Next month we say “goodbye” to “Desperate Housewives” as the long-running ABC series comes to a close in its eighth season.

Eva Longoria, known for her ‘Housewives’ role as Gabrielle Solis, was among the star-studded guest list at the White House Correspondents’ dinner in Washington D.C. on Saturday night.

The 37-year-old actress hit the red carpet wearing a white cap-sleeve Marchesa dress with a gathered skirt. The embroidered design comes from the fashion label’s Fall 2012 collection.

I like the fit and style of the dress on Eva, but I’m very disappointed to see that, while she accessorized well with a woven cream minaudière, she wore heavy black satin pumps.

Eva loves her Brian Atwood pumps, but has access to so many colors and styles that I don’t understand why she went with black. I would have preferred to see her in a gold sandal.

She finished off her look by wearing her long chocolate tresses in a gathered up ‘do.
