At this point, I don’t think lace could be a bigger trend on the red carpet if it tried.

Olivia Wilde was the latest star to jump on the negligée-reminiscent fad, which she made very clear when she stepped out in Prada for the “Help Wanted” Shorts Program during the 2012 Tribeca Film Festival on Saturday night. A little yellow goes a long way, yet in this case, it was isolated to just the ruched bodice of this lace and duchesse dress.

I wasn’t really a fan of this on Olivia; it fit well but the mixed fabrics were a bit too much for me. I would have liked to have seen much more of the dress in yellow.

With that said, I feel entirely different about her footwear. I loved everything about the sexy asymmetric style of her red leather and suede “Spoky” pumps by Aperlai — although, I wouldn’t have paired them with this dress.
