This year’s exhibition for the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations, is more than underway. In less than 24 hours, your favorites in fashion, music, film and television will hit the crimson carpet for the 2012 MET Gala in good ‘ol New York City.
The MET Museum and VOGUE will be hosting a red carpet livestream for the first time ever, but before our eyes bug out from all the amazing dresses and sharp tuxedos — let’s review what we can already expect!
Balmain designer Olivier Rousteing told Style.com that he will be taking model Joan Smalls, while the Proenza Schouler boys Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez will be accompanied by actress Isabel Lucas. Anthony Vaccarello confirmed that he’s taking model Anja Rubik and Valentino‘s Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli while take actress Lily Collins and Princess Elisabeth von Thurn und Taxis.
Style.com also confirmed that Roland Mouret is taking model Doutzens Kroes, model Karolina Kurkova will join Rachel Zoe, actor Gaspard Ulliel is a guest of Chanel, Joseph Altuzarra is taking singer Lana Del Rey and rapper Azealia Banks teams up Alexander Wang. Model Karlie Kloss will be the gal on the arm of Jason Wu and model Arizona Muse will accompany Erdem Moralioglu this year.
Alexander McQueen designer Sarah Burton is in town along with model Heidi Klum who has said that she’ll be wearing a custom lace Escada gown for the ball. The face of Balenciaga‘s latest fragrance, actress Kristen Stewart will be in attendance as well as head-designer Nicolas Ghesquière. Donna Karan headquarters has confirmed that actresses Ashley Greene and Nina Dobrev will be in custom atelier gowns.
Haider Ackermann confirmed that he will take model Constance Jablonski while Michael Kors will have his hands full with models Kate Upton and Liu Wen and actresses Jessica Alba and Hilary Swank. Model Coco Rocha will be rocking vintage Givenchy and Thakoon Panichgul is taking actress Christina Ricci. You can also expect actress Emily Blunt with her husband actor John Krasinski.
Update: It was confirmed by Gwyneth Paltrow tonight to USA Today that she will attend the MET Ball tomorrow in Prada!
