Gwyneth Paltrow in Prada | 2012 MET Gala

Gwyneth Paltrow was a favorite of mine last night at the 2012 “Schiaparelli And Prada: Impossible Conversations” MET Costume Institute Gala last night!

The 39-year-old actress bared her famous lean, long legs in style as she rocked a steel blue duchesse halter neck Prada dress with inverted back pleats and drop-dead-gorgeous macro-paillettes embroidered patch pockets.

I mean, really, how can you not be obsessed with those pockets?

I’m also totally into the cool longer length in the back of the dress. My only real complaint about the fit of the dress is the fact that Gwyneth is showing off some “side boob”, but other than that, I’m all about this dress on her.

Because she has a fantastic knack for accessorizing, GP wore her long blonde hair up to show off her bold diamond hoop earrings with emerald stones amongst a vine motif.

She carried a pink satin clutch before finishing off her look with diamond rings and a pretty pair of dark steel blue satin Prada open toe, platform pumps that were enriched with crystal detailing on the heel.

From the waist up, Gwyn looked so elegant that I almost wish the dress was a full length gown.

What did you think of this Prada dress on GP last night? A HIT or a MISS?

I disagree, I don’t think this would work as well as a full length gown; it would look to bottom heavy and would drag the top down (which would probably result in even more side-boob). Also she has AMAZING legs and a beautiful pair of shoes that she can show off. Since when has the Met Gala been a gowns only affair? Formal doesn’t mean gown. I get it for the oscars (kinda) but this is the Met Gala hosted by Vogue and honoring Prada and Schiaparelli (two of fashions biggest risk takers) so I feel like a short dress like this is great for this event, even the host wore a knee-Lenght cocktail dress and Ms. Prada, herself, was in pants. We live in 2012 where it should be celebrated to take risks.
