“Mirror Mirror” actress Lily Collins stepped out on the red carpet last night for the “Schiaparelli And Prada: Impossible Conversations” opening during the 2012 MET Costume Institute Gala.

The 23-year-old was a guest of Valentino designers Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli and wore nude gown with purple floral prints from the Spring 2012 haute couture collection. A long sleeve, high neck Victorian sheer gown served as a layer over the floral design and was brought together at the waist with a matching grosgrain bow belt.

I’ll be honest here — I’m not feeling it. I liked the dress on the runway, but I just don’t think Lily is working it.

I was hoping to see her in one of the younger, shorter looks from the Pre-Fall 2012 collection.

With her hair pulled up high, Lily managed to look like she stepped out of a Laura Ingalls Wilder novel.
