Pretty In Punk: Makeup Artist Jillian Dempsey Gives Kristen Stewart Some Edge

Kristen Stewart has attempted pretty much every type of trend on the red carpet, but we were treated to a touch of “preppy punk” done right when she attended the LA screening of “Snow White and the Huntsman” in a Stella McCartney tailored skirt suit.

After pairing the edgy ensemble with a braided mohawk and a Chanel “Pirate” ruby red manicure — all Kristen had left to do in order to perfect the look was add a little art to her face!

Makeup artist Jillian Dempsey tells The Fashion Court that she was inspired by the outfit and wanted to keep her looking “youthful and undone, but with strong eyes to match her hair and outfit.”

Jillian gave the ‘Snow White’ star fresh and glowing skin by using Armani Luminous Silk Foundation. She then set out to give Kristen’s eyes a slightly punk, worn-in black eye effect.

To achieve this, Jillian applied the Givenchy Magic Khol Eye Liner Pencil all over the lid while using a big nylon brush to smudge around the eyes on both the top and bottom.

Playing with different shades of copper-gold shadows in the crease; Jillian used Stila eyeshadow in ‘Jezebel’ as a contour just above the crease line and blended her favorite gold color from the Alcone Kryolan Crème Eyeshadow Palette on top of the lids.

 

 

She then hit Kristen’s lashes with two swipes of Shiseido mascara for big, bold and chunky lashes. For a full appearance, try the Perfect Mascara Defining Volume!

To allow for Kristen’s eyes to take center stage and really stand out, Jillian kept her cheeks pale and natural using Laura Mercier Second Skin Cheek Colour in ‘Wild Bouquet’.

She topped it all off by applying YSL Rouge Pur Couture Vernis à Lèvres Glossy Stain in #7 Corail Aquatique and then added the final touch with Terry Rose Balm on top.
