Ashlee Simpson brought a touch of edge to her summer look when she hosted the Samsung Galaxy S III event on Friday night in New York City.

The 27-year-old singer-turned-actress arrived to the celebration for the new smartphone wearing a soft, loosely tucked “Tink” mock smocked blouse and a pair of high waist red leather shorts from Alice + Olivia by Stacey Bendet.

With a swept bob, smoky eyes, gold jewelry and onyx-black nails — Ashlee finished off her look with a Swarovski black iridescent snakeskin “Fresh” clutch with silver crystal stripe and matching ankle booties.

I think she looked cool, comfortable and perfect for the event.
