First Lady Michelle Obama was a guest of honor at a special reception hosted by her majesty Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace, which was held for Heads of State and Government officials that were attending the Olympic Games Opening Ceremony on Friday evening in London, England.

Our fabulous FLOTUS was divine in a look from the latest Resort collection by J. Mendel; a white viscose techno crepe tailored jacket with overlapped side panels and silver embroidery, which was paired with a ivory silk satin faced chiffon pleated skirt.

The pattern and cut of the top is visually stunning and I love that she partnered it with the skirt, though I still love the trousers pairing from the lookbook.

With subtle makeup, minimal jewelry and a beautifully sculptured coif, Mrs. O finished off her look by pulling fro the metallic embroidery on her top. She wore metallic gold pointed toe pumps.

Unlike Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge — Michelle ended up changing her clothes for the opening ceremony.

Did you like Mrs. O’s embroidered top and full pleated skirt for the reception?
