Sexy heels on her feet, loose cuffed pants low on her hips and a layered button-down shirt in place completed the outfit, and while Kristen may have looked effortless, it took some help from her beauty team to bring it all together.
Home-girl was rocking some seriously edgy gathered undone dreadlocks, an intense smoky eye and pretty polished tips!
Are you loving her hair? How about that make-up? Want K’s nail polish? Have no fear, The Fashion Court has some tips you’ll need to recreate one of Kristen’s fiercest looks to date, including the exact products she used!
Nowhere to start but the beginning…
Beau Nelson is Kristen’s #1 go-to make-up artist when she’s in NYC, and if you’ve been following her East Coast appearances over the years, you’ll know that Mr. Nelson knows what he’s doing when it comes to giving Miss K a captivating bold eye. In this particular case, I love how he balanced her intense peepers with a shimmering nude lip.
First Beau prepped Kristen’s skin with MAC Face And Body Foundation, which he blended with Armani Luminous Silk Foundation in No. 4 Light Sand. For blush, he applied a mixture of Kevyn Aucoin‘s shading Sculpting Power and Celestial Veil Powder in Candlelight highlighter with NARS Bronzing Powder in Laguna to give Kristen flawless contoured cheeks.
When it came to Kristen’s rockstar eyes, Beau used NARS Duo Eyeshadow in both Pandora and All About Eve before applying Shu Uemura Pressed Eye Shadow in Black on the outer corners. MAC Kohl Power Eye Pencil in Feline was used to line her eye before topping it off with a few swipes of L’Oreal Voluminous Mascara in Carbon Black.
To achieve a gleaming nude pout, Beau used his long wearing and moisturizing
Beauté Cosmetics Weightless Lip Crème in Wanted — a pale nude beige shade.
You know you’re having a good hair day when your tresses look good from every. single. angle. The very talented Giannandrea worked his magic on Kristen by giving her hair some dimension with an incredibly edgy and textured gathered ‘do.
The front gave us a pompadour feel, the sides flaunted stellar height and the back featured lots of creative woven tucks and long separated twists that were reminiscent of classic dreadlocks.
It appears a thickening spray was applied to Kristen’s long hair to give her some extra body to create a nice texture and height before it was styled into a collection of loose braids at the crown. The loose hair was paired off in sections where it was twisted and set with a spray to give it an edgy undone effect.
I can’t wait to see what other hair tricks Kristen and G have up their sleeve!
If you’re not a stranger to Kristen’s style, both on the red carpet and off, you’ll know that when she really likes something she’ll end up getting plenty of use out of it. In this case, it’s her “FRENZY” nail polish from CHANEL Le Vernis Nail Colour.
After debuting on the Fall/Winter 2012 runway, the beige lacquer (with hints of pale lilac) made its way to Kristen’s nails when she attended the Teen Choice Awards this summer and again for TIFF 2012. The neutral tone works well with every outfit, and for Kristen’s relaxed ensemble, manicurist Ashlie Johnson gave her a pretty polished manicure and pedicure to show off with those cool caged sandals.
Make it a staple in your nail polish collection this fall. You won’t regret it. “FRENZY” is available through Chanel.com.
Special thanks to The Wall Group, Beau Nelson, Giannandrea & Ashlie Johnson!
