I was getting a bit nervous that we wouldn’t be dazzled by a Elie Saab creation on the last “Twilight” press tour, but Kristen Stewart shined in gold tonight for a grand finale when she posed on the faux snow-filled carpet for the German premiere of “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2” wearing a dress by the designer.

Kristen looked so glamorous in her full length gold sequin embroidered gown with a high slit.

Mr. Saab’s designs were heavily featured in my wish list for the tour, so when I saw Kristen step out of her car on the livestream, my eyes immediately perked up to a gown that looked eerily similar to what Bèrènice Marlohe recently donned at a “Skyfall” premiere. As it turns out—Kristen is in a cap-sleeve, off-runway version of that Fall/Winter 2012 Ready-to-Wear gown.

Oh, what a gorgeous dress this is! I love the dimension amongst the sequins, and the dark metallic tone complimented her complexion and rich auburn hair color. Speaking of her hair—this ponytail is up there with my favorite looks from her lately. How cool is that intense volume of waves in the back?! I’m so glad she wore it up.

Because this is the last premiere, I wanted to love everything one-hundred percent, but I did have some troubles with it.

For one, I wish Kristen had worn the belt featured on the model as I like how it defines the waist. Additionally, I wasn’t a fan of the shoe choice. Kristen wore a kick-ass pair of black platform “Manon” open toe ankle boots by Christian Louboutin with multiple buckle straps going down the front. They’re #ShoeEnvy worthy, but a dark gold (or bronze) pair of sandals or stiletto pumps—with an ankle strap or without—would have been a polished finish.

With that said, I didn’t mind them too much when she arrived. It was freezing and Kristen had on her black quilted Balenciaga by Nicolas Ghesquière jacket. The boots and biker jacket balanced off each other in that respect—in a way that’s so Kristen.

Smoky eyes and her favorite Cartier “Juste Un Clou” nailhead bracelet provided the finishing touches.

It’s been a fun ride to follow all of Miss Stewart’s looks since her first “Twilight” appearance, and even more closely since opening The Fashion Court. It’s fitting how she finished out much like her vampire alter-go — strong and sparkling.

VERDICT: Did Kristen have the Midas touch in her solid gold dress and tough girl boots?

This look is a bit of a tease for me. I wanted her to wear the gold McQueen from Resort, but instead she chose an Elie Saab and I don’t like that designer nearly as much for Kristen.

Saying that, I agree with you. The dress is nice and I love the color on her, but the belt was needed. Without it she looks wider than she is and somehow the combination of the neckline and the free waist is sort of aging to me. I can’t really explain why. Removing belts from looks seems to be a it of a trend, but I hope it stops. It rarely turns out well. I like the idea of the shoe, and with the jacket it works really well, but with the dress alone it’s a bit heavy looking.

Excluding the braid, I’ve been having some strange hair envy from her past few looks. The changes aren’t really drastic, but it’s looked nice recently.

PS. Your Berenice link goes to the Walk of Fame event instead of the premiere for me.

    Not to sure about that…
The gold colour is stunning and I love the neck-line, but the horizontal weave makes her look thick in the waist and the strangely-placed vertical bands make her look wide in the hips, everything she isn’t.

Love the hair. Off the face is a always better look for her.

I don’t know if it was planned, but Kristens dress looked stunning against the winter backdrop with the wolf. It was almost as if K, R and T all color coordinated with the set. Her dress and the wolf? Rob and Taylor’s suit with the Grey’s and blacks behind them offset with the white of the snow? Absolutely beautiful! Loved the shoes and jacket, besides last years London black dress this is my fave. Love this site!
