WHERE & WHEN: 2013 Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala – PUNK: Chaos to Couture on May 6, 2013.
WEARING: Monique Lhuillier jumpsuit, Rupert Sanderson shoes, Edie Parker clutch & Kimberly McDonald jewelry.
MY VERDICT: I was apprehensive as to whether or not Nina could out-do her black and gold gown from last year, but boy was I blown away by the direction she took tonight. The “Vampire Diaries” actress properly balanced punk and glam to live up to the “Chaos to Couture” theme. Nina rocked the red carpet in a custom-made Monique Lhuillier black Chantilly lace molded bustier jumpsuit with black leather harness tulle overskirt with horsehair trim. What a knock-out!
Not only is the outfit sick, but I’m totally digging her complimenting bold Kimberly McDonald jewels, wing-tipped eyeliner, nude lips, and long locks that were slicked back on one side. I can already predict this being a must-have beauty look.
Black “Elba” pumps by Rupert Sanderson were her shoe of choice.
Although she’s not holding it in this photo–Nina finished with a silver “Lara” clutch by Edie Parker.
