they’re simply my personal “wishes” of what I’d like to see on the red carpet.
RUNWAY WISH: Taylor is returning for another nomination for her role on “Orange Is The New Black” and I really hope she arrives in this Roland Mouret dress I picked. I’m completely in love with the metallic shattered pattern on this Pre-Fall 2015 gown with sheer cuts, and the contrast of the black halter straps and belted waist. Not only would it look amazing on her tall lean figure, but she has several great hairstyle possibilities too. Fingers and toes crossed? Yes and yes.
RUNWAY WISH: I’m still waiting for Lena to wear a dress with a three quarter sleeve, partially because it’s my favorite type of dress silhouette and also because she never does and I think it would flatter her. I feel this gold embroidered black v-neck Marchesa Pre-Fall 2015 gown would look really nice on her. She wore a v-neck dress with a short sleeve recently for the season four premiere of “Girls” and it was easily one of her best looks yet.
RUNWAY WISH: I love Jessica’s style; it’s demure but sassy and, with that spirit in mind, I selected this crushed sequin teal long sleeve THEIA Fall 2014 gown, I love the color and silhouette and think it would be a stunning choice for the “American Horrory Story: Freak Show” actress.
RUNWAY WISH: Maggie is nominated this year for her role in the miniseries “The Honorable Woman”, and it was nice to finally include her on one of my wish lists. I’ve had my eye on this lilac and burgundy Valentino Spring 2015 v-neck gown with a sheer champagne overlay for awhile now with her in mind. I love how unique it is and the quiet elegance. Needless to say, I’m really hoping to see her wear it at one point and I hope it’s at the Globes this year.
RUNWAY WISH: I’m thrilled that Ava is nominated for her direction of “SELMA” , and I’m excited to see what she will wear on the red carpet to celebrate. She wears a lot of dresses rich in color and she likes to play with different silhouettes, which made it really fun for me when choosing a dress for her. I couldn’t stop coming back to this dark emerald ZAC Zac Posen Pre-Fall 2015 gown with an attached capelet that falls over the front. I think she would look amazing in this.
RUNWAY WISH: Oprah’s movie “Selma” is nominated for Best Motion Picture, and I can’t wait to see what she wears at the gala this year. She literally looks great in every color, but one of my favorites was the burgundy gown she wore at the BAFTAs last year and I’d like to see her return to that hue with this Dennis Basso Pre-Fall 2015 v-neck gown. This silhouette reminds me of that glorious navy ODLR gown she donned at the MET Gala a few years back. Remember?
RUNWAY WISH: I’ve become a tad obsessed with Tessa’s cool style lately, which made it fun for me to pick a dress for her at the Globes this year. I can’t recall ever seeing the “SELMA” star in a Bibhu Mohapatra design before, but they say ‘there’s a first time for everything’, and I would love for her to step out in this black and white asymmetric Spring 2015 gown from the designer.
RUNWAY WISH: Anna always looks great on the red carpet because she wears dresses that compliment her figure, which can be hard for very petite girls. Trust me- I know. She usually sticks by delicate streamlined cuts and that’s why I think this strapless column J. Mendel Pre-Fall 2015 dress would look great on her. I love the beaded detail across the bust and the dramatic open drape in the back.
RUNWAY WISH: Jennifer will be on-hand to present at the Globes this year and, you know, any time J.Lo steps onto the red carpet we’ll no doubt have a daring fashion moment thrust upon us. I predict she’ll opt for something from Versace, Elie Saab or Zuhair Murad — and if it’s from the latter, I hope she wears this hot pink halterneck gown from the Fall 2014 Haute Couture collection. That sparkling embellished bodice is pretty perfect for her.
RUNWAY WISH: Kerry wears a lot of custom dresses at award shows , usually from Prada or Jason Wu, but that didn’t stop me from including her on my list with this colorful two-piece pink and yellow Oscar de la Renta Spring 2015 ensemble. There are very few people who I feel could pull this look off flawlessly, but I think Kerry could do it. This is also a much better cut for her than that last twofer look.
RUNWAY WISH: You can always expect fresh fashion greatness when Gwyneth takes on a red carpet, and this year she’ll be at the Globes to present. While it’s probably safe to assume she won’t repeat a cape, I think this hunter long sleeve turtleneck Mugler Pre-Fall 2015 gown with cuts across the bodice would hold the same “wow” factor. I mean, let’s be real, this dress has ‘PALTROW’ written all over it.
RUNWAY WISH: Sienna is returning to the Globes this year to present as well as support her nominated film “Foxcatcher”. It’s probably easy to predict her dress designer as there are a small select few she usually turns to for her red carpet looks so, with that in mind, I’d love for her to wear this beautiful bustier Burberry Prorsum Spring 2015 cocktail dress filled with beautiful shades of blue. It’s kind of an unexpected dress for this event — and that’s what makes it so good.
RUNWAY WISH: While Kate’s keyhole gown from 2013 might be one of my most favorite style moments from her in the history of ever, I think this red hot Versace Pre-Fall 2015 asymmetric gown is up for some fashion friendly competition. The cut, the color and the sparkling staple detail is so-so-so good.
RUNWAY WISH: Speaking of being red hot, can you imagine how amazing Naomi would look in this strapless Zac Posen trumpet gown from the designer’s Spring 2015 runway collection? I got a visual of her wearing this, fell in love, and didn’t look back. Here’s hoping she thought the same thing.
RUNWAY WISH: I’ll admit I was inspired to pick this dress when I saw Allison’s outfit at the season four premiere of “Girls” this month, but I couldn’t help but adore this two-piece Oscar de la Renta Spring 2015 ensemble for her. She pulls off the bandeau and full skirt well. Besides, not only do I think it would look amazing on her svelte figure, but…it’s golden and kind of award-winning all on its own.
RUNWAY WISH: Lupita was easily the best dressed gal at last year’s gala with her dramatic red cape gown and, thankfully for all of us, she’ll be back again — this time to present. I have no doubt that she will look breathtaking in anything, but I’ve been wanting to see her wear another yellow gown for awhile and I feel like it’s due time. I’ve never seen Lupita in a Romona Keveza design before, but I couldn’t pass up how well this block color and fierce form-fitting cut would look on the super toned actress.
RUNWAY WISH: In what probably serves as the official kick-off of the “Fifty Shades of Grey” press tour, Dakota will join her costar Jamie Dornan in presenting at the Globes. I absolutely loved the custom Jason Wu dress she wore at the MET Gala last year so I turned to the designer’s Pre-Fall 2015 collection for this glorious emerald beaded slip gown. It’s delicate but sexy, and the color would be simply stunning on her. I really hope she wears it, but if she doesn’t–well, there’s always the 50 Shades premiere. #JustSayin
