Welcome to Part 2 of my 2015 Academy Awards Wish List! Because my wishes ran extremely long between all of the nominees, performers, and presenters, I obviously had to turn this into another 2-parter. I mean, what do you expect when we’re talking about the red carpet for one of the biggest Hollywood events of the entire year? If you missed Part 1 >> CLICK HERE << I invite you to follow me on the big night (Sunday, February 22nd) on Twitter [ @TheFashionCourt ] as I ID the celebrity style on the red carpet starting at 6pm EST! Remember to check back here at TheFashion-Court.com after the show starts for recaps, fashion details, and verdicts. You can also find Oscar style on Facebook.com/TheFashionCourt!
they’re simply my personal “wishes” of what I’d like to see on the red carpet.
DESIGNER PREDICTION: Versace or Brandon Maxwell
RUNWAY WISH: Lady Gaga is slated to perform during the ceremony and, much like she did last year, I expect her to opt for some good old fashion Hollywood glam. I’d like to see her rock the red carpet in this white corseted bustier gown from the Atelier Versace Spring 2015 collection. It’s pretty calm compared to the glitz Mother Monster usually brings, however, it would be interesting to see her go that route.
DESIGNER PREDICTION: Roberto Cavalli
RUNWAY WISH: Jennifer will also be performing at the Oscars this year and, whether she wears it on the red carpet or on the stage, I’d like to see her wear this glorious deep green sparkling v-neck long sleeve Alexandre Vauthier Spring 2015 Haute Couture gown. I think it would hug her curves beautifully–especially with her pixie haircut. She wore a dress from Vauthier’s previous couture collection recently and had the cutouts filled in with some sparkling fabric, and she could do that with this one if the openings are too revealing.
DESIGNER PREDICTION: Zac Posen or Prada
RUNWAY WISH: Rita will perform her Oscar-nominated song “Grateful” from the movie “Beyond the Lights”, and what better way to celebrate that than to light up the red carpet in this shimmering embellished long sleeve gold goddess gown from the Zuhair Murad Spring/Summer 2015 Haute Couture collection? It would be impossible to not have all eyes on her.
DESIGNER PREDICTION: Zuhair Murad or Tom Ford
RUNWAY WISH: Jennifer has the ability to make almost every red carpet memorable as she’s known for taking daring fashion risks that people talk about for years after. I’m eager to see what she’ll be wearing for the Oscars, but I have no doubt that it will sparkle–and she will shine. I’d like to see her wear something from the Atelier Versace Spring 2015 collection, specifically this sultry black stunner with wavy embroidered panels traveling throughout.
DESIGNER PREDICTION: Dolce & Gabbana
RUNWAY WISH: While I’m excited to see what Scarlett will wear for her return to the Academy Awards red carpet, I’m more interested to see how she’ll style her razor-sharp pixie haircut. The new mama always looks good in blue, and off-the-shoulder silhouettes tend to really flatter her curves, so I’d like to see her wearing this ombré scoopneck gown from the Fall 2014 Haute Couture collection by Elie Saab.
DESIGNER PREDICTION: Roberto Cavalli or Elie Saab
RUNWAY WISH: Much like I instantly knew that Cate should wear the blue and black gown from the Armani Privé Spring 2015 collection, I want Nicole to grace the Oscars red carpet in this stunning ivory bustier gown with sparkling black bead embroidered flowers filling the skirt. We don’t often see a lot of heavily printed dresses at the Academy Awards but Nicole tends to like taking little risks, which is why I feel like she’d be the perfect person for this patterned beauty.
DESIGNER PREDICTION: Saint Laurent or Valentino
RUNWAY WISH: Dakota had fun taking the plunge while promoting her movie “Fifty Shades of Grey” recently by opting for two daring v-neck gowns, but I’d like to see her switch it up when she takes the stage to present at the Oscars. It would be a magical moment if Dakota wore this cosmic deep blue bustier gown from the Valentino Spring 2015 Haute Couture collection infused with bursting patterns of sparkling gold stars. She would literally have everyone starstruck.
DESIGNER PREDICTION: Saint Laurent
RUNWAY WISH: It doesn’t take a lot of effort for Gwyneth to leave a lasting impression because she has an effortless elegance when it comes to what she wears. I wouldn’t be surprised if she presented at the Oscars in either a custom dress or something straight from one of the recent runway shows at New York Fashion Week. If it should be the latter, I’d like for it to be this shimmering gold Ralph Lauren Collection gown. The skinny straps and sleek silhouette are very reminiscent of the popular trend from the 1990s…and no one does the ’90s like G.P.
DESIGNER PREDICTION: Jason Wu, Prada or Balenciaga
RUNWAY WISH: When it comes to Kerry dress, my wish is actually pretty on point with my predictions because I want her to wear something custom by Jason Wu. There wasn’t a dress on the runway from his recent collections that I could picture on her at the Oscars, but I know Jason never steers Kerry wrong so that would be a great choice for her. If I had to select a runway design for the “Scandal” star, it would be this breathtaking maroon flower embroidered halterneck gown from the new Oscar de la Renta Fall 2015 collection. It’s dramatic, romantic and just bold enough for Kerry to leave us all in awe.
DESIGNER PREDICTION: Alexander McQueen
RUNWAY WISH: When I first saw this deep green twisted single shoulder gown debut with the Alexis Mabille Spring 2015 Haute Couture collection, I knew Jessica had to wear it at the Oscars. Seriously. Unless she has something custom in the works, I have no idea what she could possibly wear that could be a better choice from the runway than this incredible dress. Consider my fingers, arms, legs and toes all crossed.
DESIGNER PREDICTION: Burberry Prorsum
RUNWAY WISH: The “Foxcatcher” actress will be on hand to support her nominated film and present during the ceremony, and as a longtime fan of Burberry, and the former face of its Fall/Winter 2013 ad campaign, I imagine Sienna will wear something bespoke from the British fashion house. Having said that, if she doesn’t, I hope she opts for this beautiful violet plissé single shoulder Roberto Cavalli Pre-Fall 2015 gown with gold ribbon embellishments.
