3 Looks, 3 Cities: Nikki Reed in 7 For All Mankind
After last year’s release of the final film in the successful “Twilight Saga” vampy series, actress NIKKI REED has been spending her time recording music with her husband, “American Idol” alum, Paul McDonald (check out “The Best Part” EP on iTunes!), starring in music videos with Hanson—and making jewelry! The 25-year-old launched her eclectic line Mattlin Era last fall, but has now joined forces with 7 For All Mankind for an exclusive collaboration.

The 7FAM x Nikki Reed jewelry line launched in May and features five (5) beautiful pieces designed by Reed, which are directly inspired by 7 For All Mankind‘s Spring 2013 collection. “I worked with 7 For All Mankind in the past and have always been a big fan of the brand, so when they approached me about collaborating on a jewelry line, I was ecstatic. I’m honored that Mattlin Era will be sold in all their stores,” Reed gushed.

She worked closely with 7FAM to reinforce the ideology behind the brand’s Spring campaign; ‘the ideas of Love and Connectivity come to life amongst a white wedding’. “When they told me the inspiration for the line was love, it was an organic match. Mattlin Era has always stood for the love in my heart and I seek direct inspiration from my family and loved ones,” she explained. “Once I saw the collection the jewelry was to compliment, it immediately felt like a perfect fit.”

To celebrate the launch, Nikki hit the road for three stops in three different cities wearing three fun looks from the 7FAM Spring line—and accessorized with 7FAM x Nikki Reed pieces! The bracelets, necklace and earrings are available at all 7 For All Mankind boutiques nationwide and can be purchased directly at www.7forallmankind.com, retailing from $48 – $84.

Review: O.P.I “Couture de Minnie” Collection

Product Review

Review: O.P.I 'Couture de Minnie' CollectionI’m beyond excited to share the latest collection from OPI with you, and if you follow all of my crazy Twitter ramblings then you’ll probably have an idea why–it’s all about Minnie Mouse! That’s right, I got my Disney-loving paws on the Couture de Minnie line, and before you go and say you already have the OPI Minnie polishes–slow your roll, because these bad boys are brand new!

Last summer OPI released some ultra-cute colors for their Vintage Minnie Collection, but this latest line is geared towards taking your favorite lady mouse in the high couture fashion direction. Disney has been focusing heavily on the fashionable side of Miss Minnie, and I love it! These are two of my total favorites coming together for one stylish venture. | continue reading..

Review: WEN by Chaz Dean’s Spring Gardenia Green Tea Cleansing Conditioner

Product Review

Review: WEN by Chaz Dean’s Spring Gardenia Green Tea Cleansing ConditionerPhoto via WEN/Guthy-Renker
Let’s talk about WEN by Chaz Dean—Chances are you’ve heard of it; maybe you’ve even seen the infomercial during a late night of channel surfing, or perhaps you’ve heard your co-workers chatting about it. But, have you tried it? For those who haven’t heard of it–you will now, and after you try it, you’ll honestly never wash your hair the same way ever again.

After years of watching television segments, and hearing such great things about WEN, I finally caved and made my first purchase about year ago. However, I’ve only ever used the basic kit and Sweet Almond Mint Cleansing Conditioner, therefore when Guthy-Renker asked if I’d like to try their Spring Gardenia Green Tea needless to say I jumped at the chance. I mean, I’ve had such great results with what I’ve already used–why not?

Before I tell you what I think, let me tell you a bit more about WEN.

WEN is a 5-in-1 formula that is suppose to take the place of your shampoo, conditioner, deep conditioner, detangler, and leave-in conditioner. The method is to clean your hair without lathering like shampoo, and without leaving your hair and scalp harshly stripped of its natural oils. | continue reading..

OMG it’s that time of year again—the 66th Annual Cannes Film Festival kicks off tomorrow! It’s officially time to prepare yourself for gorgeous gowns, and let’s face it, questionable choices. Some of my favorite red carpet dresses have been debuted during the prestigious film festival, so I’m looking forward to seeing which repeat attendees will continue their “WOW” streak and who will end up surprising us all. In the meantime, I’ve compiled a list of dresses I hope to see on the stars who are expected to attend.

I have a bit of a soft spot for this particular wish list as the festival last year was the first event I ever did one for.

Review: Deborah Lippmann Summer 2013 “Mermaids” Collection

Product Review

Review: Deborah Lippmann Summer 2013 'Mermaids' CollectionBrace yourself for the tidal wave of shimmer that is the new Deborah Lippmann Summer 2013 collection — The Mermaids. This mystical line is inspired by the glittering seafoam green “Mermaid’s Dream” that was a best-seller and fan favorite from last year.

This time around Lippmann wants you to kick up your fins and show off her four shade– including: blue, orange, pink, and purple–variety of magical mermaid hues, “I created these shades by listening to what customers wanted – more Mermaid’s Dream. I took the beautiful glittered shimmer to another level by creating a whole family of shades reminiscent of the cult classic. Discover the same gorgeous glittering shine in any of The Mermaids,” Lippmann elaborated on her inspiration.

As a devoted fan of “Mermaid’s Dream”, I was excited to try out some of her new colors and got my hands on the peachy-orange “Million Dollar Mermaid” and the oceanic “Mermaid’s Eyes”. | continue reading..

Product Review

Review: Essie 'Sleek Sticks'In an effort to share my love of all things hair, makeup, and nail related, I’ve begun to include reviews of some of the hottest new beauty lines. For the first round of reviews, I’d like to introduce you to the new Essie “Sleek Sticks” nail appliqué collection from their Nail Effects line. Essie kindly sent them over for me to try out and share my thoughts with you on how well they work.

If you’ve never tried nail appliques–in a nutshell–they are basically stickers for your nails. Quite frankly, when I first heard Essie was doing some I was a bit apprehensive to test them out as my experience in the past with other brands had more misses than hits. However, I LOVE Essie polish ,so I figured I’d give them it a go…plus the designs really caught my eye.

Essie Sleek Stick nail appliques, come in a variety of designs (12 to be exact, and listed at the bottom of this post); they are UV cured and said to last up to 10 days. In my history with other appliques: they usually don’t last more than a day without at least a little lifting. I didn’t have these on long enough to test out the wear time, but I’ve heard they are the best with staying on and you can get a good 4-5 days out of them.

Let’s get to it! | continue reading..

2013 OSCARS – WISH LIST

2013 OSCARS - WISH LISTphoto via The Academy
It’s almost time for, arguably, the biggest award show of the year!   The 85th annual Academy Awards will be taking place in Hollywood in less than two days time, and while we wait with baited breath for who will take home the honors this year–let’s play with fashion!   We won’t know who’s wearing what until Sunday, but it’s always fun to dream up possibilities–isn’t it? Normally I don’t “predict” as much as I “wish”, but this time around, I believe it went hand-in-hand.

Enjoy my picks (and the reasons behind all of them) for some of this years Academy Award nominees and presenters below.  Come back to The Fashion Court on Sunday, February 24th for a recap of all the red carpet style.

To follow along with me as the stars arrive, and get some quick designer ID coverage on the gowns, make sure you’re following my tweets on @TheFashionCourt. Once all the stars are inside for the big show, come back here for all the fashion recaps! | continue reading..

2013 GRAMMY Awards — WISH LIST

2013 GRAMMY Awards -- WISH LISTPhoto: Rolling Stone

The 2013 Grammy Awards–aka, the BIGGEST night in music–will soon be underway, and with that major red carpet comes a wish list of what I’d like to see some of your favorite stars of song wearing.  This is the first time I’ve created a list for this particular award show, and I have to say, I was pretty excited for it.  With some music-centered ceremonies, there are a lot of super short party dresses, but I feel like Grammy night leaves more room for glamorous gowns.  Think of it as the Oscars for music.

Maybe some of the ladies will wear something similar or exact to what I envision, or maybe they won’t. Either way, it was fun and I hope you enjoy my picks!  For quick designer ID coverage of who’s-wearing-what during the live red carpet, make sure you’re following my tweets on @TheFashionCourt. Once all the stars are inside for the big show, come back here for fashion recaps! | continue reading..

2013 Golden Globe Awards – WISH LIST

2013 Golden Globe Awards - WISH LISTPhoto via GoldenGlobes.org

In less than 24hrs some of the biggest stars in television and film will walk the red carpet for the 70th Annual Golden Globes Awards in Hollywood, but what will they be wearing?  In comes The Fashion Court: Wish List, with a selection of pretty gowns that I could picture on several of the stars who will be attending. I obviously couldn’t ‘dress’ all of the nominees and presenters, or else this post would take you over an hour to read, but you’ll find eighteen of your favorites below.

Now, I know how these shows work; I imagine a good 50% of the stars will be in custom made dresses, especially some of the stars included in this list. That doesn’t mean I can’t have my fun, of course. ;-)

For quick designer ID coverage of who’s-wearing-what during the live red carpet, make sure you’re following my tweets on both @courtjustice and @TheFashionCourt. Once all the stars are inside for the big show, come back here for all the fashion recaps! | continue reading..
