Zoya Summer Pixie Dust polish collection. The cool peeps at Zoya kindly sent me the collection---along with some of the colors from the debut Pixie collection, so I could show you just how awesome they really are. The entire collection is beautiful, bright---and, of course, super sparkly! Your finger nails will reflect like diamonds under the summer sun.
OPI "Neon Revolution" mini set for you, which features four limited edition neon nail lacquers, a neon white base coat, and the OPI Top Coat. I have a fairly large polish collection, but I never realized how I severly lacked in neon colors, and that's why I was so excited to give these a test spin. I tend not to purchase mini bottles of polish because I feel like it won't last me long--so why bother? However, I was pleasantly surprised to see how much each bottle packs--I can certainly get a few manis out of this to last me straight through summertime. On with it!
my crazy Twitter ramblings then you'll probably have an idea why--it's all about Minnie Mouse! That's right, I got my Disney-loving paws on the Couture de Minnie line, and before you go and say you already have the OPI Minnie polishes--slow your roll, because these bad boys are brand new! Last summer OPI released some ultra-cute colors for their Vintage Minnie Collection, but this latest line is geared towards taking your favorite lady mouse in the high couture fashion direction. Disney has been focusing heavily on the fashionable side of Miss Minnie, and I love it! These are two of my total favorites coming together for one stylish venture.
Deborah Lippmann Summer 2013 collection -- The Mermaids. This mystical line is inspired by the glittering seafoam green "Mermaid's Dream" that was a best-seller and fan favorite from last year. This time around Lippmann wants you to kick up your fins and show off her four shade-- including: blue, orange, pink, and purple--variety of magical mermaid hues, "I created these shades by listening to what customers wanted – more Mermaid's Dream. I took the beautiful glittered shimmer to another level by creating a whole family of shades reminiscent of the cult classic. Discover the same gorgeous glittering shine in any of The Mermaids," Lippmann elaborated on her inspiration. As a devoted fan of "Mermaid's Dream", I was excited to try out some of her new colors and got my hands on the peachy-orange "Million Dollar Mermaid" and the oceanic "Mermaid's Eyes".

Essie "Sleek Sticks" nail appliqué collection from their Nail Effects line. Essie kindly sent them over for me to try out and share my thoughts with you on how well they work. If you've never tried nail appliques--in a nutshell--they are basically stickers for your nails. Quite frankly, when I first heard Essie was doing some I was a bit apprehensive to test them out as my experience in the past with other brands had more misses than hits. However, I LOVE Essie polish ,so I figured I'd give them it a go...plus the designs really caught my eye. Essie Sleek Stick nail appliques, come in a variety of designs (12 to be exact, and listed at the bottom of this post); they are UV cured and said to last up to 10 days. In my history with other appliques: they usually don't last more than a day without at least a little lifting. I didn't have these on long enough to test out the wear time, but I've heard they are the best with staying on and you can get a good 4-5 days out of them. Let's get to it!
It was all about subtle elegance for Kristen Stewart when she arrived on the Academy Awards red carpet donned in a beautiful strapless Reem Acra embroidered gown with her amber tresses sweeping over her shoulders in full waves. To keep the look elegantly subdued, she enlisted the help of one of her go-to makeup artists Beau Nelson and manicurist Ashlie Johnson. Beau took inspiration from her dress to help give her a complimenting smokey rose palette. "Kristen's dress is an ombre rosé colored gown with intricate Swarovski detail. I wanted to create a beautiful rose monochrome look with creamy skin, rose cheeks and rose lips. I even used rose colored shadow under smoky layers of taupe and brown to create a very diffused smoky eye," he explained.
LILY COLLINS was almost unrecognizable when she stepped out for the British Fashion Awards recently! The 22-year-old star of "The Mortal Instruments" usually opts for a very feminine and youthful classic red carpet look, but Lily kept her cool and toughened up a black Mulberry pleated maxi dress with a long gold ear chain, a tousled shoulder-length dark red mane, a pout that was decked out in a lush burgundy color and a fun studded manicure. Hairstylist Lisa Eastwood added some unkempt sexiness to Lily's shorter tresses using Shu Uemura styling creams and texturizing sprays, while makeup artist Mary Greenwell gave her a sultry finish. "Lily has a new hair cut, which is fabulous! It is shorter, choppy and very contemporary, so we wanted to leave it unkempt and kind of wild. Very unstructured. We worked the makeup to go with this look to make her appear very much of the moment with a simple soft smoky eye and dark berry mouth. I used as few products possible---this keeps the look real and uncomplicated," Mary said when expressing her inspiration.
For her final "Twilight" trip down the black carpet, KRISTEN STEWART was the epitome of radiance when she arrived for the Hollywood premiere of "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2" wearing a nude lace illusion strapless gown by Zuhair Murad with a golden touch. Her beauty team, which includes makeup artist Jillian Dempsey, hairstylist Adir Abergel and manicurist Ashlie Johnson, worked together to compliment the glamorous vibe of her eye-popping gown by giving the star some old Hollywood flair with gathered cascading curls, shimmering gold eyes and a vivid berry pink pout. We've seen rock 'n roll edge from Kristen countless times, but she might have just saved her sexiness, most refulgent look for the finale of the epic saga that made her a household name. One of the elements of her look that was so exciting, was that her hair and makeup weren't unrealistic for someone take from the red carpet and re-create at a party, prom, wedding or any other special event; there's a gentle elegance about it that makes it work.
