Amidst a colorful spring backdrop of fresh flowers Salvatore Ferragamo celebrated “L’Icona”, an online project curated by photographer, Claiborne Swanson Frank, which officially launched on May 1st and celebrates the 35th anniversary of their iconic “Vara” pump. The “Vara” was first introduced in 1978, and has since become one of the most recognized shoes in the fashion word. The iconic shoe features a mid-heel with a grosgrain bow and gold plaque bearing the Ferragamo logo.

Jessica Alba and Camilla Belle were among the 180 select VIP guests who helped Salvatore Ferragamo celebrate the re-opening of the Ferragamo boutique on Old Bond Street, and 75 years of the fashion label in London last night, with a private cocktail party at the newly renovated boutique.

Although she kept warm in a long coat upon arrival, Jessica revealed her beautiful, minimalist chic ensemble as she posed near the handbags. The 31-year-old actress wore a pleated v-neck silk maxi dress that was belted with a beautiful gold and black leather accent accessory. Jessica wore her long ombré locks out and loose before completing her look with black-onyx nail polish and a patent textured slim envelope clutch.

We should have known that a deal was in the making when “The Hunger Games” star got a coveted front row seat to Raf Simons‘ debut Christian Dior haute couture fashion show during Paris Fashion Week over the summer, only to turn up at the Toronto International Film Festival last month in, not one, but two head-to-toe Dior looks.

It was officially announced today by Women’s World Daily that Jennifer would stepping in for her first collaboration with a luxury brand and taking over Mila Kunis‘ previous role as the face of the Miss Dior handbag line — starting with the Spring 2013 collection.

The 2nd Annual Gucci Award for Women in Cinema ceremony took place during the 2012 Venice International Film Festival on Friday, August 31st, and was presented to winner Thelma Schoonmaker.

Schoonmaker won for the editing of the Martin Scorsese-directed 2011 film “HUGO”. Her fellow nominees included, Colleen Atwood (costume designer, “Snow White and the Huntsman”), Nadine Labaki (director, “Where Do We Go Now?”), Brit Marling (actor, “Another Earth”), and Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy (director, “Saving Face”).

Salvatore Ferragamo launched a special new film on their official YouTube Channel today starring the faces of their Fall/Winter 2012 campaign — Sean O’Pry, Karmen Pedaru …and Kate Moss.

The seductive, dramatic — and just under two-minute film was directed by famed fashion photographer Mikael Jansson, and takes place in Berlin’s gilded Russian embassy.
