MY VERDICT: Solange went heavy on the yellow when she brightened up the Vanity Fair Oscar bash in a full-sequined gown by Emilio Pucci. The floor-length frock featured a scoop-halter neckline with a lace mesh yoke to give it some dimension, and to break it up from the rest of the design. With a wild mane of curls and gold accessories to accent, Solange topped her look off with a bright red pout.  I’m not sure if I would like this on many people, but Miss Knowles has a way of making things work while really expressing herself.  I liked the bold approach here, even thought it wasn’t a favorite of mine throughout the night.

MY VERDICT: Diane joined her actor boyfriend Joshua Jackson at the Vanity Fair Oscar after party where the duo donned matching black and white outfits. Josh stuck by a classic Berluti tuxedo while the “Host” star rocked an angled patterned sequin-embroidered cocktail dress from the Spring 2013 Haute Couture collection by Giambattista Valli.  The long sleeve design gave the appearance of an attached cape, but from the side, it looks as though a large gust of wind just hit the actress. | continue reading..

MY VERDICT: What a beautiful dress Kate wore!  I had instantly taking a liking to this black strapless tulle tea-length dress from the new Fall 2013 collection by Monique Lhuillier when the designer debuted it during New York Fashion Week earlier this month, so needless to say, I was pretty thrilled to see it as part of Oscar night.

The “Total Recall” actress made a grand arrival at the Vanity Fair bash thanks to the glamorous vintage silhouette that was covered in stunning bursting gold embroidery.  | continue reading..

MY VERDICT:
Kelsey was giving us a little “Jolie leg” on the white carpet at Elton John’s annual Academy Awards viewing party in this Tony Ward Couture gown thanks to a seriously high slit at the thigh.  The “Pair of Kings” actress selected the beautiful sage green gown with draped silk mousseline from the Spring 2012 collection by the designer, which featured angelic embroidery of pearls and petals at the embroidery that cascaded down the skirt to outline the opening.

With such a pretty gown to wear on Oscar night, I would have liked to have seen Kelsey do a little more with her hair than the standard Hollywood waves.   Soft makeup and strappy embellished silver sandals completed her look.

MY VERDICT:  After coming off an international press tour for her new movie “Spring Breakers” last week, Selena made it back to Hollywood in time for the Vanity Fair Oscar party where she donned a little couture.  The 20-year-old cutie arrived wearing a frothy shimmering pale nude gown from the Fall 2012 Atelier Versace collection, which included quite the ‘boosting’ bustier and a draped, full skirt.  Although Sel carries the dress well thanks to her slim and tall figure, I still don’t think it’s the best choice for her.

Something just feels off, but at this point I’m not sure if it’s the actual dress or the hair and accessories.  | continue reading..

MY VERDICT:  I loved it!  Naomie looked beautiful in a soft ethereal seafoam gown when she attended the Vanity Fair post-Oscar party this year.  The “Skyfall” star selected her second dress by Monique Lhuillier of the week, this time around it was a lace floor-length asymmetric gown with a draped tulle overlay comes from the designer’s ultra-popular Spring 2013 runway collection.

I adore the way the light color popped off of the English actress’ rich complexion, and the subtle alteration she made to the dress by letting one of the straps loosely fall off her shoulder. | continue reading..

MY VERDICT: Did the actual Oscar award inspired Alessandra’s outfit for the annual Vanity Fair post-award show bash?  The Victoria’s Secret model hit the West Hollywood party wearing a gold beaded gown by Zuhair Murad, from the Spring/Summer 2013 Haute Couture collection.  The high neck dress features an open back with crisscrossing strap detail and white sequin panels for modesty while everything else stayed see through amongst patterns of hand-embroidered bead work.

I mean, I can’t deny that this dress is certainly interesting, and the actual patterns are quite beautiful, but I’m just not into it.  I think it would have been better off without any see-through elements. It didn’t translate from the runway to the red–err beige and green carpet.  Ale completed her look with a glamorous woven up-do and matching gold accessories.

MY VERDICT: Liberty was amongst the many celebrities that took in the festivities of the annual post-Oscar bash hosted by Vanity Fair.  The 34-year-old model arrived to the event showing off a lot of leg in a scuba cut black mini dress by Anthony Vaccarello.  This flirty LBD features a cosmic beaded bodice with a drop-waist solid wrapped skirt that’s bordered by silver zipper detail.

This was one of my favorite dresses from Vaccarello’s Spring 2013 collection, which is why it bums me out that I didn’t like this look.  Sure, on the runway, the models aren’t going to be wearing bras because they’re changing looks very quickly backstage and don’t want to disrupt the natural design of the dress. But, that being said, this party isn’t a catwalk, and I think Liberty should have covered up her chest that you could so obviously see through the sheer top.  If having it lined wasn’t possible, then wearing a bandeau top or a bodysuit would have sufficed.

She finished with smooth tresses and strappy platform sandals.

MY VERDICT: Following her “Best Supporting Actress” win, Anne hit the Vanity Fair post-Oscar party where it appeared that she had parted with her new award long enough to change gowns.  This time around the “Les Misèrables” opted for a custom-made Saint Laurent Paris soft blue column silk-satin gown with a gold sequined halterneck.  Part of me prefers this dress to her earlier pink look; at the same time, after you get passed the neckline it all becomes pretty boring as well.

Anne left her hair, makeup, and jewelry as it was before finishing with custom vegan silver sandals by Giuseppe Zanotti.

MY VERDICT: Many of the Vanity Fair Oscar celebration attendees opted for gowns while Kate chose to party the night away in a comfortable mini.  The “Black Rock” actress arrived wearing a long-sleeve pale silver lace embroidered dress from the Giambattista Valli Spring 2013 Haute Couture collection.  My favorite part of the feminine design would be the smattering of light pink rosette and petal appliqués that spray across the waistline.

Kate complimented the soft shimmering shades of the frock by slipping on a pair of champagne gold Casadei strappy sandals, and carrying a matching metallic Rauwolf clutch.

Taking inspiration from the fairytale feel of the dress to finished her look, Kate had her hair styled in a still-trendy ‘braided halo’ before completing with tiny diamond drop earrings and a bold raspberry-pink pout.
