MY VERDICT: Melissa stunned on-lookers as she glided down the red carpet for this year’s Daytime Emmy Awards in a black lace sleeveless gown by BCBG Max Azria. The “Young and the Restless” star selected the floor length not-yet-released design, which featured floral lace patterns in trendy contoured panels that really added a beautiful overall appearance. MY VERDICT: There was a case of extreme beading going on when “All My Children” star Lindsay Hartley attended this year’s Daytime Emmy Awards. The 35-year-old actress stepped out wearing a gold long sleeve Mark Zunino Couture gown with orange, ruby, and lucite bead-work throughout–especially in clusters along the neckline and the wrists. Large double cutouts separated the sleeves from the neckline near the underarm area, but I feel like the detail–which I imagine to be the focal point of the gown–was somewhat lost due to Lindsay leaving her long dark tresses out in full waves.

I would have liked to have seen her wear it up–not necessarily a severe aging up-do, but maybe a ponytail or half-up/half-down to ensure that the cutaways were always on display. Lindsay finished off her look with intense bronze smoky eyes, a rose lip color, and a pair of platform nude patent pumps.

MY VERDICT: Jacqueline was pretty in pink when she hit the scarlet carpet on Sunday night for the annual Daytime Emmy Awards. Last year the “Bold and the Beautiful” star took a bold approach with a colorful–yet heavily printed–dress, but this time around she seemed to soften things up with a pale pink strapless Alberto Makali gown. Jacqueline selected the sugary sweetheart design, which featured sparkling beadwork throughout the bodice and amongst tufts of tulle at the skirt. | continue reading..

MY VERDICT: Kate spiced things up at the Daytime Emmy Awards over the weekend when she hit the red carpet in a low-slung open back gown by Michael Costello. The “Days of our Lives” star selected the black jersey long sleeve floor length dress with metallic shimmer, which features a gathered waist with cutouts at the sides that travel into a sexy full open back with more gathered detail at the rear. I like that she wore her long blonde locks up in a high ponytail to show it off, she actually had braided detail around the base of her hair too that I was digging. | continue reading..

MY VERDICT: Oh my sparkle! Angell had one glittering moment on the red carpet at the Daytime Emmy Awards this year when she stepped out in this sweetheart strapless grey satin gown by Impero Couture. The sateen grey dress isn’t my ideal of the best color for women with a darker complexion because I tend to favor brighter hues or jewel tones, but the metallic sequin and beaded detail throughout this design added dimension that allowed for her skin to glow when this color had the potential to do absolutely nothing for her. | continue reading..

MY VERDICT: Michelle was all about bright citric colors last year for the annual Daytime Emmy Awards, but the beloved “Young and the Restless” actress toned things down this time around when she opted for something light with a vintage appeal. She selected a satin Camille DePredini v-neck ivory long dress with tufts of draping more than halfway through the skirt. I appreciated her trying something different, but the top part was too nightgown and the lower part simply confused things.

That being said, not many people can pull off cream-colored dresses, but I think it actually works for Michelle. | continue reading..

MY VERDICT: Soap newcomer Emily Wilson, who joined “General Hospital” last year, was radiant in a colorful print when she attended the Daytime Emmy Awards over the weekend. The ginger-haired actress let her long locks flow in loose waves over her bare shoulders as she struck a pose in her abstract feather patterned Ranna Gill gown. The gathered halterneck design comes from the Fall 2012 collection and features beaded embroidery along the neck. I really like the dress; I imagine it would be better suited for something a little more low-key or an outdoor summer event, but if Emily wants to bring a touch of the season with her to Emmy night, well, who am I to argue? | continue reading..

MY VERDICT: Kristian attended the annual Daytime Emmy Awards over the weekend in the celeb-favorite Chagoury Couture cap sleeve beaded blush chiffon gown with sculpted shoulders, from the Spring/Summer 2012 collection. The full length dress features a bold large cutout at the back, which has proven to be the most loved detail about the design. Kimberly Schlapman of Little Big Town and Twilight’s Christian Serratos were seen rocking the look at award ceremonies last year.

MY VERDICT: I’m not too sure what was going on with Christel Khalil’s look at the Daytime Emmy Awards. The 25-year-old “Young and the Restless” actress normally looks pretty well put together, but I was confused by her dress choice. Christel arrived on the red carpet wearing a halterneck red-orange gown by Shareen with cutouts at the hips. It almost looks like she tucked a floor-length sarong into her bikini top–and that’s not cool. This didn’t just borderline on too much–it hit the mark. | continue reading..

MY VERDICT: Sal was vibrant in violet when she hit the scarlet carpet for the 2013 Daytime Emmy Awards. The former “American’s Next Top Model” winner has found a new home on “All My Children”, and she brought her beauty A-game to the annual ceremony in a slinky Moschino satin gown. The sultry floor-length design features twisted straps and a sexy dramatic draped open back. This purple tone is beautiful against her rich complexion, and I loved her long braid.

I wonder if Sal and her AMC costar Denyse Tontz planned their lookalike ‘dos!

Shimmering smoky eyes and minimal accessories completed her look. Sometimes less is more, but I think a few diamond and amethyst bracelets would had added a complimenting sparkle.
