WHERE & WHEN: Capital FM Jingle Bell Ball 2013 on December 7, 2013.
WEARING: Versus Versace dress, Manolo Blahnik shoes
Joely Richardson was the epitome of glamour in a breath-taking black lace strapless gown by Marchesa with an overlay of black chiffon and gathered at the waist with an embroidered belt.
I adored the vintage styled waves in her hair. Her oversize oval drop earrings were stunning, but I’m not quite sure they worked with the dress; they also blended too much with her hair color.
With the earrings aside, I think this was definitely a big “red carpet moment” for her.
Minnie wore a shiny gunmetal one shoulder silk gown with one sleeve cutout at the shoulder by Alberta Ferretti. She looked beautiful, but the gown seems to be about a size too big on her — unless that’s how it supposed to look. Maybe she could have added a pretty belt over the gathered detail line at the waist.
I’m not really sure.
All I know is that I usually have a difficult time getting into her red carpet, and yet I think this suited her well. I especially loved her loose pinned hair and that Edie Parker box clutch she kept a tight hold on.
I adored this Marios Schwab large fishnet geometric cocktail dress when it recently debuted during last month’s London Fashion Week. Rebecca Hall wore it along with the shoes seen with it on the runway to the premiere of “The Awakening” tonight during the 55th BFI London Film Festival at Vue West End.
I still love the dress, but I don’t think this was right for her; she also didn’t pull off the shoes. A black platform sandal would have mostly likely been much more appropriate for her.
On top of everything, she was wearing such an edgy dress; the least she could’ve done was…something with her hair.
I feel like it was a wasted look.
Tonight was the premiere of “A Dangerous Method” held during the 55th BFI London Film Festival at The Odeon West End and all awaited Keira Knightley’s red carpet fashion moment. The 26-year-old star must have been chilled to the bone when she arrived in a two-color crissover halter neck cutout pencil dress from the Resort 2012 collection by Roksanda Ilincic.
I mean, come on – it’s October in London!
The dress was one of my favorites when I originally saw the collection, but I don’t think it transferred to the red carpet well on Kiera. What I loved most about the piece was the short top half with the small triangular cutout detail above the waistline, yet on Keira it looks stretched and the small cutout is twice the size.
On the upside, I like her black Salvatore Ferragamo double platform satin ankle strap sandals and the Chanel “Camelia” ring. Her make-up was complimentary to the look, but I’m on the fence with her slicked down hair.
I almost didn’t recognize Andrea Riseborough on the red carpet earlier tonight for the “W.E.” premiere during the London Film Festival. I was so use to her dark chocolate brown hair that her new goldie locks threw me totally off, but I love her new color so much! It looks out-right stunning with her complexion.
Andrea arrived at The Empire Leicester Square wearing a striking Christian Dior strapless dress from the Spring/Summer 2011 haute couture collection which features an attached …for lack of a better word — “mullet skirt”. A similar design was seen during the presentation.
I’m not sure which dress I prefer more — because while I love the flower appliqué details on the pictured runway dress, I adore the navy blue and creamy beige shades working through Andrea’s dress. | continue reading..
Freida Pinto nixed a gown for the premiere of “Trishna” tonight at the BFI London Film Festival in favor of a black jumpsuit from Ralph Lauren‘s Fall/Winter 2011 collection.
While I’m totally on board with the accessories, including the two-tone platform sandals and bag from the collection, I’m not a fan of this jumpsuit on Freida. The dangerous plunging neckline is too sharp on her while the rest of it just looks like shimmering sequined pajamas.
I wish she had worn the earrings from the collection. Or any earrings for that matter.
On her wrist is a beautiful Chopard platinum cuff encrusted with 151 fancy cut diamonds. | continue reading..
Today Freida Pinto promoted her film “Trishna” during a press conference and photocall held during the 55th BFI London Film Festival wearing a light peach Louis Vuitton silk double-breasted pocket sleeveless dress with shimmer satin paneling.
I’m speechless. Now, I’m a firm believer in dressing for yourself and if you love it and feel confident wearing it — despite what critics say — go for it.
With that being said, I can’t imagine how Freida put on this dress and said to herself “this looks great, now I’m going to pair it with shoes that don’t match it.”
Alone the pieces are great, but they’re not a match. There’s something very casual about her Manolo Blahnik weaving thick multi-strap sandals and wearing them to compliment a cocktail dress. Gold thin strappy sandals or even a nude pump would have been more complimentary. Furthermore, the dress is bunching all over the place so it doesn’t look like it even fits her.
There was really nothing done with her hair, but her make-up is good.
Elizabeth Olsen headed to London to promote “Martha Marcy May Marlene” and attended the red carpet premiere tonight during the 55th BFI London Film Festival where it was held at the Vue West End.
Elizabeth wore a pink beaded embroidered top and tulle skirt from the Spring/Summer 2011 Haute Couture collection by Chanel. She accessorized with a black & white diamond “Camelia Nervure” ring and the “Premiere” pave all diamond watch from Chanel Fine Jewelry. | continue reading..
Before last night’s red carpet premiere, Shailene Woodley accompanied her co-star George Clooney to the photocall for ‘The Descendants’ held during the 55th BFI London Film Festival at The Odeon West End.
The 19-year-old actress wore a dark seafoam short sleeve v-neck top and grey pencil skirt featuring daisies in the same seafoam shade along with a cream color which were all outlined in a dark gold. The combo dress (that she wore sans belt) comes from the Resort 2011 Z Spoke by Zac Posen collection.
Just like at the premiere, Shailene wore her hair out but unlike last night it wasn’t as bad considering she wasn’t on the red carpet. I just don’t understand why she’d want to cover up her outfits like this anyway. To each their own I guess.
Shailene wore lace up tan cutout oxford shoes.
