MY VERDICT: Alicia Keys flaunted her curves on the Grammys red carpet in a Azzedine Alaïa shiny black leather crop top paired with a full-length wool-crepe skirt with a pleated hem.  While many could argue that she broke the issued dress code rules, I say she just stayed on the edge.  I actually loved this outfit on her.  Alicia complimented the style with black and diamond snake earrings with a matching ring by Lorraine Schwartz, before completing her look with a tightly swept up-do and shiny ruby lips.

She was one of my favorites of the night!

The 2013 Grammy Awards–aka, the BIGGEST night in music–will soon be underway, and with that major red carpet comes a wish list of what I’d like to see some of your favorite stars of song wearing.  This is the first time I’ve created a list for this particular award show, and I have to say, I was pretty excited for it.  With some music-centered ceremonies, there are a lot of super short party dresses, but I feel like Grammy night leaves more room for glamorous gowns.  Think of it as the Oscars for music.

Maybe some of the ladies will wear something similar or exact to what I envision, or maybe they won’t. MY VERDICT: Alicia looked beautiful in red when she took to her piano to perform at NFL Super Bowl XLVII. The “Girl On Fire” singer certainly fit the title of her song in a sleeveless wool crepe, full length body-hugging gown by Azzedine Alaïa, which featured a pleated accordion hem and a square neckline that allowed for Alicia’s necklace to stand out.

WHERE & WHEN: NRJ Music Awards 2013 in Cannes, France on January 26, 2013.
WEARING: Michael Kors

MY VERDICT: I didn’t think I’d get to see this dress back out on the red carpet after Gwyneth Paltrow’s shortened version, but Alicia broke out some sexy Michael Kors cutouts last night for the NRJ Music Awards. I just love this crepe gown, the details are so cool; sexy and a little bit edgy. It’s a great design for a music event atmosphere, and I dig the little spin Alicia put on it with the black and white diamond short necklace to lay amongst the crewneck. With such a minimally accessorized look, I can’t help but be drawn to her hairstyle.  Looks like Alicia is still into rocking her new spin on a fauxhawk with her super short locks.

WHERE & WHEN: 40 Principales Awards 2012 in Spain on January 24, 2013.
WEARING: Victoria Beckham dress, Giuseppe Zanotti shoes

MY VERDICT: Alicia was kind of all over the place with her look on the blue carpet for the 40 Principales Awards. She opted for a sexy sheer bodice Victoria Beckham dress, and although I like a pencil cut skirt on the singer, the chest area was pretty ill-fitting. It wasn’t very… up-lifting.  As for the bottom half of her outfit,  a thick crisscrossing ankle strap on a shoe isn’t flattering when you have a wide or strong athletic calf.  These Giuseppe Zanotti sandals are totally cutting her legs off.  The outfit was cocktail ready, but everything above the neck wasn’t.  I wonder why she opted for such an intense hairstyle and jewelry that I would expect to see at a very formal event? WHERE & WHEN: President Barack Obama’s Inaugural Ball in Washington, D.C. on January 21, 2013.
WEARING: Michael Kors

MY VERDICT: Alicia Keys stunned in red when she celebrated Pesident Barack Obama’s reelection by performing at the Inaugural Ball this evening in Washington, D.C..  The “Girl On Fire” singer wore a gorgeous crimson Michael Kors crewneck matte jersey goddess gown with crystal embroidery, which twisted at the waist and featured a dramatic open back.   This design comes from the Fall/Winter 2012 collection by the designer, and I think it was a beautiful choice for Alicia.  It wasn’t busy, but it wasn’t too simple either—and let’s face it, those shimmering embellishments simply captivate.

Alicia wore her short hair pinned up to show off her diamond earrings that matched her bracelet, and completed her look with red open toe platform satin pumps.

WHERE & WHEN: 2013 BET Honors in Washington, D.C. on January 12, 2013.
WEARING: CD Greene

MY VERDICT: The “Girl On Fire” singer certainly lived up the title of her song when she burned up the red carpet at the annual BET Honors in her sexy black dress.  Alicia flaunted her toned arms in a slinky silk gown by CD Greene, which featured a cool patent trim along the right side that wrapped around the neck into a asymmetric halter style.  Keeping her accessories minimal, Alicia simply finished off her look with swept back hair, ruby red lips, and a fun pair of classic gold hoop earrings.

I totally loved it from head-to-toe!

Alicia Keys rocked the red carpet last night when she took on the 2012 MTV EMA Awards in a sexy green and black dress by Stella McCartney with sheer illusion panels at the shoulders and waist in the designer’s signature “Miracle” contour. It creates a glorious slimming effect that women hope for, naturally.

Because we’ve seen this dress in several colors and fabrics—most recently on Kristen Stewart—I like how Alicia put a different spin on it with a embroidered necklace collar, and then incorporated her ring and shoes to match. | continue reading..

Alicia Keys provided exclusive and original music to accompany “The Journals of Mama Mae & LeeLee”, an innovative story-telling app that launched for Apple iOS products–such as the iPhone and iPad, and attended a special Q&A with the creative team Bento Box Interactive, which was held at the Apple Soho store in New York on Thursday.

The 31-year-old “Girl On Fire” singer rocked a head-to-toe black look, mainly consisting of her military-inspired Victoria Beckham crepe dress. I really liked the body-con fit as it was very flattering for her famous curves, but I wish Alicia had still worn the double-wrap black leather skinny belt. I feel like something is missing.

Alicia topped off her look with silver cap toe pumps, a sleek mane and bright neon pink lips.
