MY VERDICT: Petra was yet another beauty in Elie Saab at the annual amfAR Cinema Against AIDS fashion show fête at the Cannes Film Festival this year. The 33-year-old model stepped out for the gala wearing a sleeveless navy sheer gown from the Fall 2013 collection with all-over panels of sparkling embroidered bead work. Petra’s dress was very similar to fellow model Izabel Goulart‘s long sleeve gown, and like her, Petra also confused me with her jewelry.

Normally I’d be the first person to want to see more necklaces on the red carpet, but I wasn’t into the bold bauble on a long chain with this particular dress. That being said, Petra’s long honey tresses looked lovely in side pinned cascading waves.

She completed her pretty look with a shimmering dark silver box clutch and classic red lips.

MY VERDICT: Oh, how I was hoping to see this Elie Saab gown at the Cannes Film Festival this year! Izabel arrived for the annual amfAR Cinema Against AIDS fashion show event wearing the gorgeous teal embellished long sleeve Elie Saab gown, from the designer’s Fall 2013 line. I was captivated by the pattern and sheer insets of this belted design–especially the side notched open neckline. I found this to be a great choice for the Brazilian model, and while I loved her long wavy tresses and gold Elie Saab box clutch–the necklace threw me off.

Izabel’s emerald and diamond short necklace was a beauty, no doubt, but it didn’t go with the dress. She should have passed on one completely or opted for a style without a colorful shade that would clash.

MY VERDICT: Liberty Ross was amongst the star-studded guest list at the annual amfAR annual Cinema Against AIDS fête and fashion show, held at the Cannes Film Festival. The 34-year-old English model passed on an expected gown and arrived to the event wearing a fun Balmain electric blue gentili lurex jacquard long sleeve top and a belted black silk wrapped mini skirt, from the Fall 2013 collection. I’m a huge fan of this line, and I love the idea of this outfit, but it appeared a size or two too big on Liberty. With the skirt slipping at the waist and the top kicking out in the back, it lost some of the cool shape from the catwalk.

I wanted to be into this more than I was, and I would have also liked to see Liberty in a formal gown for this gala.

An unkempt up-do, diamond stud earrings, and pointed toe black pumps completed her look.

MY VERDICT: I have zero doubts that Rosie Huntington-Whiteley looks beautiful in sweats and without an ounce of makeup, therefore it should go without saying that she stunned on the grey carpet for the amfAR Cinema Against AIDS event tonight at the Cannes Film Festival. Much like Jessica Alba was doing at the same time, the 26-year-old model opted for a white-on-white look that included a Christian Dior creme silk bustier and skirt with convenient hidden pockets; this silhouette was originally seen on the Fall 2013 catwalk in a colorful print design. | continue reading..

MY VERDICT: It was another day, and another event at the Cannes Film Festival for Jessica Chastain. The ginger-haired actress attended amfAR’s annual Cinema Against AIDS gala where she kept it simple in a scarlet floor-length Saint Laurent dress. I guess she had to give us some time to recover after that sparkling purple couture gown from the night before!

For this event, Jess opted for the single shoulder detail with delicate tied detail at the shoulder and a sassy peek-a-boo cutout beneath the bust. Simple yet elegant, Jessica easily pulled this off. I can’t deny that I was hoping for something a little more, but she looked beautiful. This was complete with pretty cascading curls, a wrapped Bulgari diamond bracelet, and nude sandals.

MY VERDICT: It was hard to miss Irina Shayk as she brightened up the dull grey carpet at the amfAR Cinema Against AIDS fashion show event in a stunning embroidered Elie Saab gown. The 27-year-old Russian model arrived in a beautiful shocking pink sleeveless fully embellished deep v-neck gown from Saab’s colorful Spring/Summer 2013 collection. The sleek silhouette hugged Irina’s curves perfectly as a matching leather belt highlighted enhanced them.

I prefer the slightly thicker accessory over the thin belt from the runway look as well as the modified depth of the neckline.

She wore her long brunette locks in a smooth parted style before finishing with an Elie Saab gold clutch and flawless makeup.

Dita Von Teese stepped out on the red carpet this past Thursday night for the amfAR Inspiration Night Paris, held at Maxim’s in Paris, France, wearing a dress by Marc Jacobs.

The 39-year-old burlesque dancer selected a metallic embroidered baroque dress from the Fall 2012 collection with wide black straps and a tea-length curved skirt.

I prefer the darker color of this dress to the white version seen on the runway, and for once, I don’t have much of a problem with the solid black pumps Dita wore.

She finished off with diamond and ruby Piaget jewels, red lacquered nails, her signature red lip and a sculpted, shiny ‘do.

Rebecca Wang hit the red carpet on Thursday night for the amfAR Inspiration Night Paris at Maxim’s in Paris, France.

The film producer flaunted her curves in a pink floral gown from the Spring 2012 collection by Roberto Cavalli, which was paneled in wide contouring strips of black lace.

I really love this dress, and thought it was a lovely choice for Rebecca.

She complimented it with diamond jewelry, a matching black satin clutch — with an embellished handle — and her long dark hair falling loose over her shoulder.

The stars came out in their finest last night for the amfAR New York Gala To Kick Off Fashion Week held at Cipriani Wall Street.

Among the attendees in daring yet gorgeous designs from Roberto Cavalli were Julianne Moore, Heidi Klum, Cindy Crawford, and Jennifer Hudson.

Julianne Moore opted for a long-sleeve dark navy gown with a bit of ruching at the waist. I like that she kept things simple without many accessories; she wore a pretty colorful ring and carried a black Bottega Veneta clutch. I’m such a fan of her red hair — in fact, I love red hair in general. Julianne’s looked so pretty with a slight wave and parted to the side. She finished off her look with a dark berry pout.

Heidi Klum has had four kids… I hope my figure looks as fabulous as hers does if I ever even have one! The 38-year-old model looked incredible in her laced-side metallic strapless sequin gown. The last time we saw Rose Byrne on the red carpet, it was in her amazing jumpsuit at the Screen Actor’s Guild Awards last month. The 32-year-old actress showed her pretty face last night for the amfAR New York Gala’s Kick Off to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in another great look — but this time she went back to dresses.
