MY VERDICT: Anna Kendrick, star of the upcoming film-adaptation of the musical The Last Five Years”, was simply stunning as she arrived for the 2013 Tony Awards in her custom made Donna Karan Atelier gown. This exquisite black and navy creation included organically pleated silk gazar, which encircled Anna’s figure from the bust to the train. The sections of the dress that were not skimmed with the gazar was covered in strategically layered chiffon and 4-ply silk crepe. What a beauty! | continue reading..

WHO: Heather Graham
WHERE & WHEN: “The Hangover Part III” Los Angeles Premiere on May 20, 2013.

MY VERDICT: Heather was quite the goddess in jade green when she arrived for “‘The Hangover Part III” in a form-fitting Herve L. Leroux silk dress with a daring pleated plunge neckline that layered beneath the bust. It wasn’t aging nor was it ‘too young’, and the color is stunning; it did well to compliment both Heather’s fair complexion and light blonde hair. With dresses that feature such dangerous dip in the neckline, it can border on way too much cleavage exposure, but I think Heather worked this just fine.

Speaking of her hair, Heather hair her golden tresses style in cascading loose curls that were gathered to one side.

She kept her makeup light with a matte pink pout, but her jewelry was very bold. Heather wore stacked chunky diamond bangles and a gorgeous emerald and diamond statement necklace from Amrapali; she additionally accessorized with a matching pewter box clutch and sandals.

MY VERDICT: It was almost as if “Once Upon a Time” star Jennifer Morrison was still riding off of her punked out mood from the MET Gala earlier this month when she turned up at this year’s Billboard Music Awards. The 34-year-old actress stepped out on the blue carpet wearing a very daring dress contraption by Kristian Aadnevik.

Jen wore a racy black bustier corset bodysuit from Aadnevik’s Fall 2013 collection with an attached sheer chiffon floor-length skirt. Due to the barely there fabric, I have no doubt that Jennifer was comfortable in the Las Vegas heat. I know I should probably say that her dress needed to be lined, but I think that would have taken away from the look severely. I only wish that the fabric of the skirt had been a little darker so that it didn’t come off as sheer, because otherwise it’s just one of those things that looks better on the runway. | continue reading..

MY VERDICT: What a world of a difference a silhouette makes! I wasn’t thrilled with the voluminous frock that Vanessa selected for the French premiere of her new movie “Spring Breakers”, but the petite actress made a grand red carpet improvement when she attended the Berlin celebration wearing a colorful sleek gown by Naeem Khan.  Vanessa selected the single sleeve number from the designer’s Spring 2011 collection, which features a vibrant tropical pattern and a sexy thigh-high slit that showed off her ridiculously cool black spiked “Lady Max” sandals by Christian Louboutin.  I’m quite possibly obsessed with these heels, and I found them to be a funky choice over a safe pointed toe pump. | continue reading..

WHERE & WHEN: 85th Academy Awards Nominations Luncheon on February 4, 2013.

MY VERDICT: Amy slipped into a vivid, gorgeous purple abstract floral pattern when she attended the Oscar nominee luncheon today.  The 38-year-old actress selected the long-sleeve silk dress from the Spring 2013 collection by J. Mendel, which features contoured piping detail at the bodice and blending patch pockets at the front of her hips.  After that very pale gown she wore to the Golden Globes last month and so many LBDs before that, it was nice to see Amy back in some lively color.

With the dress as the focal point, Amy wore ivory Casadei platform pumps to match the lightest color in the pattern.  I don’t think the heaviness brought down the delicate fabric, but I believe a slimmer shoe would have provided a much more streamlined appearance.  Amrapali earrings, minimal makeup, and a low ponytail with straying tendrils helped Amy complete her look.

Busy Philipps proudly displayed her growing belly in a custom made Gabriela Cadena navy blue long sleeve silk dress.  The “Cougar Town” actress, who recently announced her second pregnancy added some boldness to her look with a colorful one-of-a-kind Irene Neuwirth statement necklace and a matching embellished clutch by Judith Leiber.  A scarlet red lip, gathered mane and Brian Atwood “Stearling” shoes were the finishing touches.

Alexis Bledel like Jessica Pare, the 31-year-old actress also opted to wear a brilliant shade of emerald green at the SAGs this year. I love the color and pleated detailing of her structured Rena Lange dress, and the way her beautiful vintage House of Lavende colorful crystal necklace sat amongst the deep v-neckline. MY VERDICT: The “Smash” actress looked beautiful on the red carpet for the Golden Globes this year when she arrived at the gala wearing a glamorous Donna Karan Collection gown.  Debra slipped into the strapless black silk organza hand ruched gown from the designer’s Resort 2013 collection.  With a swept up mane, Debra completed her look by piling on gorgeous jewelry; including earrings and a bracelet from Samira 13 as well as a bracelet by Amrapali.

MY VERDICT: The beautiful Sandra was presented with the “Humanitarian Award” during the Peoples’ Choice Awards ceremony last night, and gave a beautiful speech that you should definitely YouTube if you missed it.  The “Blind Side” actress accepted her award while wearing an outfit by Vera Wang; a Spring 2013 blue and black floral lace single shoulder top that was paired with a high waist pinstripe skirt. To be honest, I don’t really care for skirt. It’s appropriate for her, don’t get me wrong—I just don’t like the striped effect. The top was really pretty though, and I think it’s kind of fun that she added pops of hot pink at the top and bottom of her look with a lipstick to match her suede Jimmy Choo “Anouk” pumps. | continue reading..

Katy Perry looked beautiful in bright green when she helped celebrate Carole King and her music, to benefit Paul Newman’s The Painted Turtle Camp at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood on Tuesday night.

The 28-year-old singer walked the carpet in this satin kelly green strapless floor-length Yves Saint Laurent dress, which featured a thigh high slit at the side and rows of pretty crystal beaded embellishments at the bodice.  I loved the color against her warm complexion and dark, thick curls.  Her hair seems to be gravitating a bit more towards brown than the jet black we’ve been seeing a lot of lately.  But, maybe that’s just the lighting. | continue reading..
