MY VERDICT: I’m still kind of hung up on Amy’s tuxedo from two weeks ago, but that didn’t stop me from loving the “Parks and Recreation” star in this black Zuhair Murad jersey floor-length gown. Amy arrived on the red carpet wearing the sleek design, which comes from the designer’s Fall/Winter 2012 collection and features subtle, but shimmering beaded piping detail. She wore her shoulder length blonde tresses in voluminous layered waves before finishing with diamond earrings, grey smoky eyes, and a olive green croc Judith Leiber “Ellington” envelope clutch. | continue reading..

MY VERDICT: While her co-host rocked a fun little tea-length lace dress, Amy went in the direction of comfort and pure fierceness when she hit that Golden Globe red carpet in a custom made Stella McCartney black tuxedo!  I love the tailoring of this look, especially the cropped pant which went perfectly with Amy’s custom Charlotte Olympia “Isadora” platform sandals.  Amy let her diamond Chopard lariat necklace fall perfectly in the center of the satin trim jacket; her jewelry complimented the shimmering crystal effects of her Judith Leiber clutch.  With a swept up chignon and light makeup, Amy’s look was not only complete—it was practically perfect.  This is the kind of outfit I’ve been wanting to see on the red carpet for so long. | continue reading..

In less than 24hrs some of the biggest stars in television and film will walk the red carpet for the 70th Annual Golden Globes Awards in Hollywood, but what will they be wearing?  In comes The Fashion Court: Wish List, with a selection of pretty gowns that I could picture on several of the stars who will be attending. I obviously couldn’t ‘dress’ all of the nominees and presenters, or else this post would take you over an hour to read, but you’ll find eighteen of your favorites below.

Now, I know how these shows work; I imagine a good 50% of the stars will be in custom made dresses, especially some of the stars included in this list. That doesn’t mean I can’t have my fun, of course.

Amy Poehler wowed on-lookers last night when she posed on the red carpet for the star-studded Emmy Awards wearing a dazzling gown from Stella McCartney.

The nominated “Parks and Recreation” star selected this plunging neck black halter gown with silver beaded embellishments that created an ombré effect as it reached the end of the design. I liked the contouring pattern at the bust and hips.

Amy styled her long blonde hair in side swept curls before finishing off her look with red nails, a light pink lip and black onyx-and-diamond double drop earrings.

Amy Poehler was all smiles on the red carpet this past Friday night for the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Performer Nominees’ 64th Primetime Emmy Awards Reception.

The “Parks and Recreation” star wore a sparkling black BCBG Max Azria cocktail dress with a sheer inset at the bust. She brightened up the dark dress with gold accessories, including stacked bangles and heart shaped stud earrings from House of Lavande and a pair of shimmering platform Sergio Rossi “Cachet” pumps. | continue reading..

Your favorite ladies from today’s hottest primetime shows hit the red carpet last night for the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences’ Performers Peer Group Cocktail Reception, which was held in Universal City, California — and they pretty much all wore black.

“Modern Family” star Julie Bowen arrived at the Sheraton Hotel wearing black floral lace dress from French couturier designer Christophe Josse, which featured flounce tiers at the waist and trim around the neckline along with beaded bordering throughout. With her hair gathered up and subtle make-up, Julie simply finished off her look with a dark purple lacquered pedicure that peeked out of her platform black suede Jimmy Choo pumps.

Julie’s costar Sofia Vergara continues to make me feel completely lazy about going to the gym as she struts around in a sassy little dress. The 40-year-old newly engaged actress flaunted her killer bod in a long-sleeve black lace dress with embroidered tasseling at the crossover hemline layer. She partnered the dress with black sheer tights, black onyx-and-diamond jewelry, classic dark suede platform pumps and a long silky mane. | continue reading..

Ooh lala Amy Poehler!

How fabulous did Amy look at the MET Gala on Monday night in her peplum bustier gown by Fotini? Her black liquid dress featured a full train in dramatic black feathers.

I like the dress on her a lot, but I really love the fact that she accessorized with gorgeous green drop earrings. While I love her unkempt wavy chignon hairstyle, I wish a few pieces were pulled up to  show off those stunning baubles.

She completed her look with bright pink lips, a black evening clutch and matching nails as well as open toe platform pumps.

Her smokey eyes were a bit too dark, but it’s the MET … it works.

After a hilarious appearance on Saturday Night Live the night before, Amy Poehler hit the red carpet at the Hollywood Palladium last night for the 2012 West Coast Writers Guild Awards where she rocked a cool cocktail look.

The “Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chip-Wrecked” actress slipped into a one shoulder champagne-colored dress by David Meister that hugged her figure and hit at the top of her calf. Amy completed her look with a smooth shoulder-grazing coif that showed off her diamond stud earrings by Dana Rebecca Designs.

As for her footwear, Amy wore nude leather slingback platform sandals by Jimmy Choo.

Just like red, blue was another popular gown choice tonight. First up is “Glee” actress Dianna Agron who surprised me wearing the sapphire silk-satin “Skylark” gown from Roksanda Ilincic‘s fall 2011 collection. The color was gorgeous, but I can’t help feeling like the gown was “too old” for Dianna. I would have preferred this dress on someone else.

Oh my, my. Emily Blunt might just be my big blue winner of the night because not only did she select an Elie Saab fall 2011 haute couture gown, she wore my favorite one from the collection. The midnight blue embroidered tulle gown with an embellished waist and dangerously cut neckline was breath-taking. It doesn’t even matter if she had skipped hair and make-up completely (which she thankfully didn’t) because that dress saves all.

Claire Danes looked gorgeous tonight in a blue georgette strapless sequin embroidered gown from Oscar de la Renta‘s resort 2012 collection. I love how the sequins are designed in this dress to almost look like shattering glass and as with Emily, Claire wore my favorite look from that collection. I wish you could see the cool satin platform Barbara Bui sandals Claire was wearing under all that pretty.

I’m pretty sure I wasn’t the only one waiting to see what Katie Holmes would wear on the red carpet tonight, I’m also sure I wasn’t the only one not shocked by the fact that she not only worn a solid color silk dress. Katie kept it simple in a Calvin Klein Collection cobalt gown with a silver thin belt. It wasn’t a stand-out look but I thought it suited Katie very well – simple and classy. Katie left her hair up in a high bun and wore a pair of Pierre Hardy sandals. | continue reading..
