MY VERDICT: I may have had Naomi pegged for jewel-tone color at the Oscars this year, but the “Impossible” actress was thinking more along the lines of shimmering metals.  Naomi hit the garnet carpet for the ceremony, where she was nominated for Best Actress in a Leading Role, wearing a custom-made Armani Privé gown.  The form-fitting asymmetric design was enveloped in layered gunmetal grey sequins, and featured a single cap sleeve, a cutaway element on the opposite side, and a sexy low-dipping open back.

All in all, I thought the dress was cool—but something felt off, like it needed to either be strapless or cap-sleeved entirely. As for Naomi’s hair, she was one of the few stars who really did something with it and I appreciated that.  The loose swept back chignon was stunning, but I believe it would’ve been best with a much more regal gown.  It’s as if she was wearing two different looks.  Soft makeup and Neil Lane drop earrings helped provide the finishing touches.

WHO: Jessica Chastain
WHERE & WHEN: 85th Academy Awards on February 24, 2013.
WEARING: Giorgio Armani Privé dress, Christian Louboutin shoes & Harry Winston jewelry.

MY VERDICT: Jessica was simply heavenly on the Oscars red carpet in her custom made Armani Privé copper-toned silk satin strapless corset gown with sparkling embroidery.  It should go without saying that the “Zero Dark Thirty” played it a bit safe compared to what she could have worn, but I would be totally lying if I said I didn’t like this.  Jessica looked divine, and as I predicted, she was definitely giving nods to old Hollywood glamour—and it was appreciated, at least by me.

A side-parted mane with sculpted curls were accented by diamond earrings, a matching bracelet, and a siren red pout.

Bravo, Miss Chastain!

WHO: Stacy Keibler
WHERE & WHEN: 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards, held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills on January 13, 2013.
WEARING: Armani Privé

MY VERDICT: Stacy obviously attended the Globes last night as the date of George Glooney, but that didn’t stop her from upstaging several other ladies in her gorgeous strapless black velvet Armani Privé gown with metallic spaced stripes.  I would say that the statuesque 33-year-old appeared like she stepped right off the runway, but she looked better than the model!  There was a simplicity to this as Stacy didn’t wear overwhelming jewelry or do much with her hair;  simply sleek tresses, diamond earrings and a black clutch helped her complete one stunner of a look.

FYI: George is also wearing Armani.

MY VERDICT: You know that term “fifty and fabulous”? Well, that’s applies to Jodie Foster, who stepped out on the red carpet last night to attend the Golden Globes where she was honored with the Cecil B. DeMille award, for lifetime achievement in motion pictures, looking amazing in a Giorgio Armani shimmering couture design.  Jodie wore a navy blue crystal embellished column dress with embellished crisscrossing straps.  The dress is pretty all on its own, but it’s Jodie’s smooth bob haircut and flawless makeup that helped make her look quite magical for such a memorable night.

Bèrènice Marlohe was dressed in head-to-toe black when she walked the matching carpet with “Skyfall” costar Daniel Craig for the premiere of their James Bond movie in Berlin, Germany on Tuesday evening at the Theatre am Potsdamer Platz.

The beautiful French actress opted for a loosely gathered trendy top-knot hairstyle to show off her bare shoulders in a single strap black Giorgio Armani gown. Milla Jovovich got glam for the 2012 DreamBall on Thursday night in New York.

The “Resident Evil: Retribution” actress arrived at The Bowery Hotel wearing a gorgeous dark strapless reptile printed gown from the Spring/Summer 2013 Armani Privé haute-couture collection.

I’m torn on whether I liked Milla’s jewelry choice.

One one hand, the boldness works with the drama of the dress — but, then I can’t help but feel like the multi-layer chain draping is too overwhelming combined with the big green disks that don’t match the green in her dress at all.

She finished off her look with side-gathered bouncy girls.

HATE IT or LOVE IT?

Olivia Munn ‘let it all hang out’ on Sunday night when she arrived to celebrate the Emmys at HBO’s annual post reception held at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood.

The 32-year-old actress wore a one-of-a-kind black satin dress from Armani Privé that fell at the ankles and featured a plunging, wide neckline. Although it included a mesh inset to hold the dress together, nothing could really hide the nearly full view of Olivia’s cleavage. Umm… was it too much?

Olivia completed her party look with sleek tresses, Giorgio Armani black bow appliqué peep toe pumps, a crystal-encrusted Judith Leiber clutch and jewelry from Neil Lane — including a 20kt platinum and diamond necklace.

HATE IT or LOVE IT?

Lena Headey brought some dazzling drama to the Primetime Emmy Awards when she arrived wearing a Armani Privé gown.

The “Game of Thrones” star rocked a custom-made, black slinky lace and bead-embroidered gown, which featured a floor-length matching sheer overlaying cape that shimmered and swayed as Lena moved.

I’m digging the glamorous edge Lena brought to the look by showing off her tattoos in a peek-a-boo way. You don’t see many dresses like this on the red carpet, so while it’s a bit to take in — I like the result.

She finished off her look with dark nails, a low and sleek ponytail, pink lips and a pair of diamond feather earrings.

LOVE IT or HATE IT?

I can’t wait to see what my favorite stars from the small screen will be wearing. Spending the afternoon posing for a camera in one couture gown after another doesn’t sound like such a tough day at work to me. I’m sure KEIRA KNIGHTLEY found the idea to be on ‘the bright side’ of her daily “To Do List” when she was asked to be the cover girl of next month’s VOGUE.

The “Anna Karenina” star was photographed by Mario Testino for the October issue, styled by Grace Coddington, wearing a bone lace gown and metallic gloves from the Fall/Winter 2012 Haute Couture collection by CHANEL.
