“Dark Shadows” star Bella Heathcote hit the red carpet last Tuesday night for the Australians In Film Awards & Benefit Dinner, which was held at the InterContinental Hotel in Century City, California.

The 24-year-old Melbourne-born actress arrived wearing a black jumpsuit from the Fall 2012 collection by Emilio Pucci that featured an elastic drop-waist, a thin keyhole opening at the bust and a thick sequined halterneck collar.

While I think the jumpsuit is cool, I feel like Bella let it down by not wearing a belt. Even if she didn’t wear the same sequined wide belt that Anja Rubik did on the runway, she still needed something.

The visible seam and droopy waist does nothing for her. It was also a bummer that the pants weren’t brought up an inch to show off her shoes. She completed her look with a sleek up ‘do, a black satin clutch, diamond jewelry and a dark berry pout.

Bella posed on the red carpet with Anna McGahan, an AIF honoree and the Heath Ledger Scholarship recipient.

FYI: Anna wore Alexandre Birman couture peep toe pumps.

What did you think of Bella’s jumpsuit?

Newly engaged Miley Cyrus joined her handsome Melbourne-born fiancé Liam Hemsworth at the Australians In Film Awards & Benefit Dinner this past Tuesday evening at the InterContinental Hotel in California.

The 19-year-old singer showed off her toned figure (thanks to a regular Pilates workout regime) in a black jersey long sleeve mini dress by Zimmerman with a cutout bodice.

I like the dress, and it fit Miley well, but I don’t like the cutout element at all. It looks like she pulled her dress down in the front and her bra was exposed. If that part had been modified and filled in, it would have improved the look ten times over, I think. | continue reading..

Phoebe Tonkin looked beautiful on the red carpet this past Tuesday night when she attended the Australians In Film & Benefit Dinner in California wearing Tadashi Shoji.

The 22-year-old Australian actress, and former star of now defunct TV series “The Secret Circle”, arrived at the InterContinental Hotel wearing a cap sleeve silk linen dress from the Spring 2012 collection, which featured a hand-painted ivy wash print that began beneath the bust and continued to the top of the drop-waist skirt. | continue reading..

For her second red carpet look this week, “Dexter” star Yvonne Strahovski attended the Australians In Film Awards & Benefit Dinner on Tuesday night wearing another white ensemble.

This time around, the Aussie actress opted for a glamorous neck tie halterneck blouse and a gliding silk maxi skirt from the Spring 2012 collection by Naeem Khan. | continue reading..

Abbie Cornish kept it classic and chic in a white sleeveless Christian Dior sheath dress when she attended the Australians In Film Awards & Benefit Dinner on Tuesday night in California.

The “RoboCop” actress wore her long blonde layered tresses out and parted to the side to show off her long diamond earrings.

I liked the touch of sparkle she added to the look with her silver crystal clutch, but I’m a bit put off by her open toe black Dior pumps. A pair of pewter sandals would have been the perfect match. | continue reading..
