MY VERDICT: Katrina was not to be ignored on the red carpet as she stepped out looking beautifully thermal in a ice blue fishtail Badgley Mischka gown.  This design was originally presented on the Spring 2013 runway with a fluttery caplet attached at the shoulders, but I much prefer the sleek silhouette on the “30 Rock” star.  The metallic embroidery provided stunning dimension while Katrina completed her look with flattering accessories and soft side swept waves.

 

Sometimes my favorite looks get overlooked when it comes to seeing them on the red carpet, so I always get really excited when one of them gets selected by a celebrity stylist to get some Hollywood spotlight.

“Pitch Perfect” star Anna Kendrick stepped out on the white rug to celebrate the Women in Hollywood event last night with ELLE Magazine in Beverly Hills wearing the Badgley Mischka dress that I absolutely fell in love with when they presented their Resort 2013 collection early this year. | continue reading..

Georgia King hit the grey carpet on Sunday night for a post-Emmy Awards party hosted by FOX, Twentieth Century FOX and FX.

The “New Normal” actress arrived at Soleto wearing a beautiful sequin-embellished gold floor-length dress with floral appliqués from the Resort 2013 collection by Badgley Mischka.

I thought the dress was very appropriate for the evening celebration — and it looked fantastic on Georgia!

She finished off with a popular “Heidi braid” hairstyle, a gold mirrored Judith Leiber clutch, shoes by Jimmy Choo and vintage jewelry from both Neil Lane and Platt Boutique.

Morena Baccarin: The “Homeland” actress rocked a plunging neck strapless grey dress with pleating at the bust and hips. I thought she pushed the risk of a “wardrobe malfunction”, but thankfully Morena had an illusion inset within the v-neck opening. Red lips, bold diamond jewelry and a pewter minaudière were the finishing touches to Morena’s Emmys look.

Glenn Close: After completely falling in love with Glenn’s look at the Oscars this year, I was excited to see what she would wear to the Emmys. The “Damages” actress wore a Bibhu Mohapatra printed long-sleeve mermaid gown with black sheer draped panels at the skirt and all over sharp details layered throughout the rest. I may have felt differently about the dress on someone else, but it did absolutely nothing for me on Glenn. She accessorized with a pair of satin “Anya” sandals by Dana Davis.

Gretchen Mol: Unless you’re wearing black (or black-and-white), you run a risk wearing a monochrome look on the red carpet. At least if it’s all the same shade of one color. I’m surprised with how much I loved what Gretchen wore. | continue reading..

Kate Mara attended the Emmy Awards last night where she supported her cast and crew from “American Horror Story”.

The 29-year-old actress looked beautiful in a silk lavender-and-gold floral lace gown from the Spring/Summer 2013 collection by Badgley Miscka, which was completely embroidered with colorful peach, purple and gold petal appliqués along the lace edged neckline and bodice.

It should go without saying that Kate looked great in this gown, but I’m not quite sure what’s going on with her hair. It’s almost like a pinned side-ponytail. Regardless, I’m not feeling it.

Leaving her hair out or a half-up/half-down style would have been much more complimenting.

Kate finished off with stacked diamond bracelets, smoky eyes and dark lacquered nails.

The Primetime Emmys are officially less than a week away!

Consider this week as the “road to the biggest night in television” as there are bound to be several parties and events to prepare us all for this upcoming weekend. This past Sunday kicked it all off when the red carpet rolled out at Nokia Theatre L.A. Live for The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Creative Arts Emmy Awards.

Maya Rudolph kept it short and sassy in a black lace cocktail dress by Dolce & Gabbana. The “Up All Night” actress styled her long hair in glamorous curls before finishing off her look with diamond jewelry and a pair of black and gold peep toe platform pumps. Carrie Underwood went back to her roots and hit the red carpet on Wednesday night for the Finale Results Show to end the eleventh season of FOX’s “American Idol”, held at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles, Calif..

The 29-year-old Country superstar, and former ‘Idol’ winner, wore a pretty navy blue, long-sleeve “Orion” mini shift dress by Badgley Mischka that was totally embroidered with crystals in bursting orbit patterns.

One of my favorite ladies on the Oscars red carpet last night was Penelope Anne Miller. Not many stars can say they had a hand in designing their gown, but “The Artist” actress can.

Penelope helped design her pale pink halter neck gown by Badgley Mischka that was fully embroidery with a scattered effect of silver sequins throughout the entire dress. The smooth tapered style gave Penelope an amazing smooth silhouette.  | continue reading..

Kelly Osbourne hit the red carpet at the Hollywood and Highland Center last night for the 84th Annual Academy Awards in a drop dead gorgeous gown.

Words can not describe how much I loved this emerald paillette embellished black gown, from the Fall/Winter 2012 collection by Badgley Mischka with sheer insets at the neckline and flutter sleeves.

I’m so excited that it got some Oscars spotlight — and Kelly really pulled it off. This is officially my most favorite gown that she has worn all awards season long! | continue reading..
