MY VERDICT: Before “The Great Gatsby” premieres during the opening gala of the Cannes Film Festival tonight, Carey Mulligan and her cast-mates–including Leonardo DiCaprio and director Baz Luhrmann, attended the press conference late this morning. After rocking the MET Ball red carpet just last week in my favorite cocktail dress from the new Balenciaga by Alexander Wang line, Carey stepped out in yet another amazing look from the Fall 2013 collection.

MY VERDICT: Julianne was the guest of designer Alexander Wang at the MET ball this year and, obviously, opted to debut something from his first collection as the new Creative Director of Balenciaga. The “Carrie” actress arrived on the red carpet wearing a custom dark green gown version of a black halterneck peplum cocktail dress seen during Wang’s presentation several weeks ago. I think the dress is pretty, but not only is it not punk—it widens Julianne’s figure. In fact, it was kind of an awkward fit for her from start to finish. That being said, I thought her green statement bracelets on both wrists were gorgeous.

Julianne finished off with a cool sky-high sculpted ponytail and a pair of suede pumps to match her dress.

MY VERDICT: I was very excited to see Carey wearing my favorite dress from the new Fall 2013 Balenciaga collection by Alexander Wang. This is the designer’s first line as the new Creative Director for the beloved fashion house. The “Great Gatsby” actress arrived on the red carpet rocking the sculpted black cocktail dress with a show-stopping cutaway back, angled shoulders, a split peplum and oversize safety pin embellishment at the collar. It had a punk vibe without overly sticking to the theme, and it was the perfect way for Carey to play with it. Refined punk? That sounds about right. | continue reading..

MY VERDICT: Rooney clearly showed us how to take a look directly from the runway–err, or ‘lookbook’ in this case–when she donned a full ensemble from the last Resort 2013 collection Nicolas Ghesquière did as the Creative Director for Balenciaga.

The “Side Effects” star appeared as though she just stepped off the catwalk at Fashion Week when she attended the photocall for the movie at the Berlinale Film Festival.  Rooney wore a cuffed white tee tucked into high-waist pinstripe trousers with a cropped navy crossover crepe top layered over it.  I’m a total fan of this on her!  Rooney has that cool, tomboy personal style that makes it feel so natural.  I also believe she’s doing the tightly pulled center-part ‘do, smoky eye, and dark garnet lip better than the model.  | continue reading..

WHERE & WHEN: “Warm Bodies” Hollywood premiere on January 29, 2013.

MY VERDICT: If I were a fly on the red wall at the premiere of this new zombie movie, I can only imagine how loud the screams were when Nicholas arrived.  The handsome 23-year-old English actor gave his best intense stare for photographers as he posed in a sharp gunmetal Balenciaga suit.  Overall, the tailored style was classic, as was the matching pocket square to his white dress shirt, but there was still something very young, modern and cool it. The shade of grey is so striking on him.

On another note, can I please direct focus to the color of his eyes? They’re so beautiful and bright.

Nicholas completed his look with a pair of black leather lace up shoes, a metallic braided bracelet, and a Rolex watch.

AMANDA SEYFRIED was a breath of fresh air when she attended the world premiere of “Les Misèrables” in London. The beautiful starlet had luminous skin, radiant Hollywood blonde bombshell curls, and she was rocking a feisty ruffled flamenco dress! I’m so used to seeing such sweet looks from Amanda, that I wasn’t prepared for this sassy look—but she pulled it off. Despite wearing such an intense dress, I was happy to see that Amanda held back on her makeup and didn’t compete with her dress by going overboard on a smoky eye or deep red lips.

Makeup artist Mary Greenwell worked with Amanda, who takes on the role of Cosette in the feature film of the beloved musical, to help bring out her natural glow for a shimmering red carpet moment. “Amanda’s skin is looking absolutely perfect! Smooth, pale and without a flaw. Her gorgeous Balenciaga dress showed lots of skin with a fabulous décolleté, so it was extremely important that her face matched perfectly to her chest, same texture and same colour.” | continue reading..

Amanda Seyfried was quite the head-turner tonight when she turned up the heat on the chilly red carpet for the world premiere of “Les Misérables”, held at the Odeon Leicester Square in London, England.

The 27-year-old beautiful blonde actress bared a lot of skin in the early December nighttime air wearing a black mid-length silk flamenco ruffled Balenciaga by Nicolas Ghesquiere, from the designer’s final spring collection with the high fashion label.  The square neckline gives way to a plunging v-neck bustier that is both sexy as it was seemingly uncomfortable; Amanda was seen adjusting herself a few times on the livestream.  | continue reading..

Robert Pattinson sure knows how to liven up a ultra-dark ensemble!

The 26-year-old will no doubt be suiting up to perfection later on today for the premiere of “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2″ premiere in Madrid, Spain—but, first up: the photocall. Rob joined his Twi-mates Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner on the black carpet for a press conference at the Villa Magna Hotel this morning where he donned a little plaid and a lot of leather.

Rob is wearing a fall-ready red McQ Alexander McQueen Patchwork Polo with yellow and black worked into the mix, including the contrasting collar. Garrett Hedlund looked quite dapper on the scarlet red rug last night when he joined his “On The Road” costars Amy Adams, Kristen Stewart and composer Gustavo Santaolalla at the AFI FEST 2012 gala screening of the Walter Salles-directed film. The movie, which is set during ‘the beat generation’, is adapted from the beloved largely autobiographical novel by Jack Kerouac.

The 28-year-old actor wore a navy saflia-check two button suit by Prada, which he sadly left unbuttoned, and it had this great luxurious shine to it without being glossy. | continue reading..

Kristen Stewart never fails at turning heads on the red carpet, but tonight she practically caused some whiplash when she arrived at the Grauman’s Chinese Theatre for the AFI FEST 2012 gala screening of her movie “On The Road” wearing a Balenciaga by Nicolas Ghesquièrebelly-baring white top and high-waist black trousers.

The 22-year-old actress–and the face of the “Florabotanica” fragrance, was recently spotted front row at Ghesquière’s Spring 2013 fashion show in Paris where she, no doubt, set her sights on this ensemble–aka look numero uno from the presentation.
