MY VERDICT: Claire Julien joined her crew from “The Bling Ring”, including castmates Emma Watson and Taissa Farmiga, today for the Cannes Film Festival photocall for the film directed by Sofia Coppola. The blonde actress opted for a trendy white-on-white look today; a white diamond pattern crotchet halter crop top and matching a-line skirt by Balmain, from the Spring 2013 collection.

I feel like the top and skirt were totally on point with the setting, but the rest of the outfit could have used a little tweaking. Claire added a tiny bit of color with an emerald Danielle Queller ring, but the white platform shoes just looked too chalky and clunky. They weren’t a terrible choice, but something with less weight–or even a pop of color, could’ve improved the overall appearance.

Claire’s minimal makeup was a wise decision, but a high ponytail or low side braid would have been fun.

MY VERDICT: It seemed like Kate was paying homage to Jem and the Holograms rather than punk when she hit the MET Gala red carpet in a hot pink Balmain Atelier gentili lurex jacquard body-con mini dress. Don’t get me wrong–I love Jem and I think the “Black Rock” actress, who was the guest of designer Olivier Rousteing, look really cool in the dress. WHO: Zoe Saldana
WHERE & WHEN: “Star Trek Into Darkness” German premiere on April 29, 2013.
WEARING: Balmain top and skirt, Christian Louboutin shoes, EF Collection jewelry

MY VERDICT: Zoe stood out on the white carpet in bright pink as she joined her co-stars for the German premiere of their new film, “Star Trek Into Darkness”; the follow-up to 2009′s “Star Trek”, the widely successful motion picture based off the iconic television series. Selecting a look from the Pre-Fall 2013 collection by Balmain, Zoe rocked a long sleeve gold and pink embroidered metallic scale top tucked into a hot pink gathered tulip mini skirt.

I’m completely in love with the futuristic rock element of this design; not only was it perfect for the event, but it also complimented Zoe’s lean figure while highlighting her complexion.

I’m not exactly thrilled that she left out the embellished belt seen on the model, but the lack of accessory didn’t hurt the look for me either. | continue reading..

Busy Philipps proudly displayed her growing belly in a custom made Gabriela Cadena navy blue long sleeve silk dress.  The “Cougar Town” actress, who recently announced her second pregnancy added some boldness to her look with a colorful one-of-a-kind Irene Neuwirth statement necklace and a matching embellished clutch by Judith Leiber.  A scarlet red lip, gathered mane and Brian Atwood “Stearling” shoes were the finishing touches.

Alexis Bledel like Jessica Pare, the 31-year-old actress also opted to wear a brilliant shade of emerald green at the SAGs this year. I love the color and pleated detailing of her structured Rena Lange dress, and the way her beautiful vintage House of Lavende colorful crystal necklace sat amongst the deep v-neckline. Rihanna appeared on the German show “Wetten dass..?” over the weekend to perform her single “Diamonds” and shined in head-to-toe Balmain.  When I originally saw this white halterneck crop top and wide leg black leather trousers during the Spring 2013 presentation, I immediately envisioned the 24-year-old singer being the one to wear it first; be it for a music video, red carpet appearance or an editorial.  I guess a performance was the right time for her!

Although I wish she had worn the belt from the runway as well, I liked her vintage gold Chanel chain belt that matched her jewelry.  Rihanna finished with black skinny sunglasses and stud earrings.  | continue reading..

It was hard to pick my favorite dress from the 40th American Music Awards, but I know hands-down that Gwen Stefani was one of the best dressed women of the evening! She commanded the red carpet when she arrived with her No Doubt bandmates wearing a gorgeous embroidered jacket and leather leggings.

Gwen’s oversize black dinner jacket comes from the Fall 2012 collection by Balmain and is embroidered in a metallic cream color while embellished pearls and other beaded detail.  She passed on the straight leg leather pants paired with it on the catwalk in favor of a tighter design. | continue reading..

As if she didn’t get enough bold get-ups on the catwalk, Victoria’s Secret Angel Doutzen Kroes hit the pink carpet at the official after party for the annual Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show last night wearing a playful printed dress.

The 27-year-old Dutch model wore a Balmain strapless fit-and-flare mini from the Resort 2013 collection; a black and white dress featuring intense stripes, diamond and baroque patterns. | continue reading..

Taking a break from filming on the Canadian set of “The Mortal Instruments”, Lily Collins rocked the red carpet last night for the Toronto International Film Festival premiere of her movie “Writers” while wearing a bad-ass Balmain dress!

Seriously, I love her long sleeve ice blue high neck mini dress, from the Pre-Fall 2012 collection, which features beaded net embroidery and bold baroque patterns in bright violet, red and gold.
