MY VERDICT: Carey Mulligan may have opted for a softer shade at the premiere of “The Great Gatsby”, but her co-star made an attempt to spice up the red carpet in a gown to match. Isla attended the opening ceremony gala wearing an Oscar de la Renta carnation bouquet lace sweetheart gown with a full ruffled skirt. A similar style was presented during the Bridal 2014 collection by the designer. The dress is fun and it fits Isla very well, but while I don’t dislike it, I guess I was just expecting something really unique and memorable for this particular event. I feel like different versions of this dress have been worn too many times.

Frankly, if it even carried the same full shape of the Bridal line design pictured above, it would have made a bigger impact.

Isla styled her hair in celebrity-favorite cascading waves before finishing her look with gold jewelry from Bulgari. In fact, I think my favorite part of this whole outfit would that stunning 18kt yellow gold statement necklace that’s filled with blue topazes, amethysts, green tourmalines, peridots, citrine quartz, rhodolite garnets and pavé diamonds. Simply breathtaking.

MY VERDICT: My first impression of the dress Analeigh wore to the BVLGARI party was simply “Wow”.  The “Warm Bodies” actress surely turned heads in her exquisite raspberry v-neck lace and chiffon cocktail dress from the Fall 2012 Haute Couture collection by Georges Hobeika.  Dripping in stunning strategically placed velvet strips, this dress features all-over embroidery of matching velvet flower petals and pearl embellishments.  I’d say my first thought was pretty spot-on.  Analeigh knew she couldn’t distract much attention away from her dress, therefore she simply accessorized with a gold box clutch, BVLGARI jewelry, and terracotta pointed toe pumps.  I think the shoes have a bit too much of an orange hue, if she was going to go for a neutral pump, I think something with more of a grey tone was needed.

WHERE & WHEN: 19th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards on January 27, 2013.

MY VERDICT: Michelle was amazing on the red carpet last night.  The “Downton Abbey” star looked every bit of dramatic glamour in her Chado Ralph Rucci Fall 2011 black column silk-satin gown with mesh paneling.  She was definitely sporting some “side boob”, and unlike with most people, it didn’t look tacky on her—although, I wish she had more coverage.  The graceful English actress wore her dark brown hair in elegant side-parted waves before beautifully accessorizing with a black “Elba” pumps by Rupert Sanderson, a BVLGARI “Serpenti” geometric clutch and a matching diamond bracelet.

WHERE & WHEN: 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards, held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills on January 13, 2013.

MY VERDICT: Rachel and her husband Daniel Craig complimented each other in black ensembles at the Golden Globes this year.  The “Oz: The Great and Powerful” actress wore a sweet Louis Vuitton black silk dress, which featured a sheer polka dot yoke and a matching skirt that began mid-thigh. If it were not for the sheer aspects of this, it would have simply been a strapless LBD with a satin bow at the belt, and we couldn’t have that. The see-through detail of the skirt allowed for us to get a good view of Rachel’s platform Jimmy Choo “Raven” suede sandals. She completed her look with a full side-parted mane of shiny big curls. | continue reading..

MY VERDICT: I was a bit taken back by Michelle’s look, because I was not expecting the “Downton Abbey” star to wear anything like this!  At first I’m not sure I was thrilled with the strong shoulder silhouette of her Alexandre Vauthier couture gown, but I can’t deny that it’s been growing on me and I kind of like it. Although I don’t think it’s the best we could see from her, Michelle had a fierce presence last night and I dig the fact that her shoes were dark red, and she gave us a sneak peek of them as she glided down the carpet.

MY VERDICT: Julianne looked so beautiful and regal last night when she walked the red carpet in a beautiful long sleeve Tom Ford black cady dress, which was custom made for her by the designer.  The column design featured a full open draped back as well as white panel insets at her waist and down the side.  The “Game Change” star added some gold into the mix with statement diamond earrings and a cuff bracelet, as well as a metallic trimmed black clutch.  With her long red hair styled in a pristine up-do, lightly lined eyes and a simple pink pout, Julianne had an effortless, yet glam appearance.

MY VERDICT: The “Homeland” actress wore something that was a little bit unexpected tonight.  After showing off her shoulders in a sexy white pantsuit at the People’s Choice Awards earlier in the week, Morena opted for a much more demure silhouette from the Valentino Fall 2012 Haute-Couture collection.  She selected Look 12, a navy silk pleated gown with black wave detail at the hem, which matched the sheer arms and center panel of black sequin embellishments.  Considering I wasn’t much of a fan of it on the runway, it’s a big deal to me that I liked it so much on Morena.  It was kind of aging, sure, but she still looked nice.  Morena finished off her look with a dark manicure and bouncy curls.

Rosamund Pike joined her costar Tom Cruise as they continued their “Jack Reacher” international press tour last night with a premiere at the Callao cinema in Madrid, Spain. The 33-year-old English actress bared some leg in a gold embroidered long sleeve cocktail dress by Emilio Pucci.  It’s very subtle, but I like the twisted dragon pattern along the front of the design.

Several stars came out for an intimate cocktail soirèe for the Rodeo Drive Walk of Style honoring BVLGARI this past Wednesday in Beverly Hills, where some of Hollywood’s most lovely up-and-coming starlets hit the black carpet in pretty little dresses and sparkling jewels. Let’s take a look!

Bella Heathcote played with color and print by selecting this cap-sleeved Mary Katrantzou envelope and bird pattern Spring 2013 dress. With Mary’s dresses, you don’t really need any help in the accessories department—because let’s face it, your attention is going to that dress whether you’re into it or not. It’s going to take something major for the eye to stray, and that was no different in this case. With that said, Bella completed her look with black satin Lanvin pumps, a white Patrick Shannon minaudière, Bulgari jewels and wavy tresses.

Revenge star Christa B. Allen wore a black monochrome outfit, which consisted of a sleeveless ruched mock neck micro mini dress that she partnered with pointed toe t-bar patent pumps by Christian Louboutin that are appropriately titled the “T-Spiga”. Isla Fisher brightened up an already vivid blue carpet Thursday night for the London premiere of the holiday movie “Rise of the Guardians” wearing a white lace cocktail dress. The 36-year-old oped for a sleeveless, knee-length peplum Dolce & Gabbana dress, which featured an accent blush grosgrain built-in belt.
