The 2013 Grammy Awards–aka, the BIGGEST night in music–will soon be underway, and with that major red carpet comes a wish list of what I’d like to see some of your favorite stars of song wearing.  This is the first time I’ve created a list for this particular award show, and I have to say, I was pretty excited for it.  With some music-centered ceremonies, there are a lot of super short party dresses, but I feel like Grammy night leaves more room for glamorous gowns.  Think of it as the Oscars for music.

Maybe some of the ladies will wear something similar or exact to what I envision, or maybe they won’t. MY VERDICT: Compared to Taylor’s mini and Alicia’s cutouts, Carly Rae opted for bit of a demure look when she attended the NRJ Music Awards last night when she stepped out on the red carpet in a brown satin and suede gown by IZMAYLOVA.  The panel pattern of this design is cool, but I wish she had brought a little color into the look with her jewelry or handbag. I liked her makeup a lot, and the way her hair is growing out is proving to be much more of a flattering look for her face compared to a few months ago.  Did you think this was a great dress for the “Call Me Maybe” singer?

“Call Me Maybe” singer Carly Rae Jepsen joined Katy Perry and a slew of other female artists on Friday afternoon for the 2012 Billboard Women In Music Luncheon in New York City.

The 27-year-old stepped out on the red carpet wearing a sapphire blue Rachel Zoe jacquard dress with padded cap sleeves, a drop-waist flounce tiered skirt and a cutout back, from the designer’s Resort 2013 collection ($275, nordstrom.com).

Because of the smooth neckline, Carly was able to wear her hair out long and sleek without worrying about covering up an important detail.  | continue reading..

Carly Rae Jepsen made her American Music Awards red carpet debut last night, and dazzled her way into the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live wearing an embellished light pink dress.

The singer behind this year’s biggest pop hit “Call Me Maybe”, who took home the award for ‘Best New Artist of the Year’ arrived wearing a sleek baby pink backless plunging v-neck halter gown by Gomez-Gracia, which flared at the feet while being completely embellished with thousands of hand-sewn iridescent micro-sequins in various metallic shades. | continue reading..

After rocking a custom-made playsuit from Ani Lee on the TCA stage during “Call Me Maybe”, Carly Rae donned yet another customized look from the designer. The “Call My Maybe” singer played with color and patterns when it came to her pink carpet look! Carly wore a bright blue Cengiz Abazoglu silk one-shouldered dress, from the designer’s Spring 2011 Pret-A-Porter collection. It was one big party in Canada last night when the stars hit the red carpet for the 2012 MuchMusic Video Awards, held at the MuchMusic Headquarters in Toronto.

The crowd was energetic, the celebrity attendees were excited and some of the clothing was… questionable. I did a little plucking and picked some of the ladies who stuck out to me for a bit of a fashion run-down of the night.

Selena Gomez seemed to be hell-bent on proving that there’s no such thing as ‘too short of a hemline’ when she arrive in this sparkling, sequin-embroidered, metallic micro-mini Roberto Cavalli dress. It’s good that there were straps — or else it would look like she was in a tube tunic — but the 19-year-old really could have added three more inches to that. | continue reading..
